CHARMBRACELET

This Cd is fantastic, it shocked me at how her vocals have improved! she doesnt do all the mad screaming anymore (except on through the rain) its a sort of mellow vibe with a few uptempo's

1 through the rain - this is a typically great mariah tune
2 the one - fantastic, its good 2 hear some guitar on a mariah track
3 yours - this should b a single
4 i only wanted - this is a my all type affair but more mellow and much better
5 clown - her eminem diss track, this should b released its great
6 my saving grace - one of the best songs of her career, amazing
7 irresistable - one of the best uptempos on the album, very up-to-date sounding track
8 subtle invitation - tie's with my saving grace, like no mariah song you have ever heard, great music, jazzy!
9 bringin on the heartbreak - a cool cover, cool track
10 sunflowers for alfred roy - perfect ending 2 a great cd!

the only songs i havent mentioned r "boy", "you got me", "you had ur chance", "lullaby"! these songs r good but she tries 2 b hip on these tracks and i prefer the unhip mariah!

in my opinion the 10 tracks above r some of the best she has done, only the "music box" tracks and some "butterfly" tracks can compete!

ps im not even a mariah fan, until now!

I saw her this morning on the Today show singing at the Mall of America in Minnesota. It was nice to see her bounce back after having some difficulties. She was especially nice to the fans at the Mall.
In the interview, Matt Lauer (sp?) made reference to Mariah, Prince, and a couple of others supposedly being out of touch with today's music. She responded well - indicating that she creates her music from inside - and is not focused on pleasing a particular demographic. (These are no the exact words of the interviewer or Mariah - just a summation). I thought she handled it well.
It's unfortunate that to be played and on the charts - you have to appeal to specific "demographic" - no individuality / creativity etc. But it really isn't much different with the shows on TV, in the Movie Theatre, etc. Everything is pretty "dumbed down."

Harlepolis

I know, this is the typo low-key mellow kinda groove LP thats why I love it.

Subtle Invitation are def my BEST jam simply becoz its a jazzy live set. No computers or porgramming involved in its production. I dig Lullaby too :nod

The rest is amazing!

Doesn't her CD also include a remix of "Through The Rain" with Kelly Price and Joe? How does that sound? Is it uptempo? Do their voices sound good together?
