Rev Run's Son Popped for Weed

Rap legend Rev Run's teenaged son Joseph Simmons Jr. was arrested tonight for possession of marijuana.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the 19-year old was seen allegedly buying the marijuana and rolling a joint while sitting in a car on Manhattan's Upper West Side. We're told he tried to get away by throwing his car into reverse, and nearly backed into the officer's car.

Simmons Jr, known as JoJo on the MTV reality show "Run's House", was also booked for resisting arrest, attempted reckless endangerment, and criminal use of drug paraphenalia.

You know Rev wont be sparing the rod.

Didn´t Run and DMC mention smoking weed in their songs ? Run should be okay with this.

I suggest he buys a house for his son in Holland

J-Rock
With the Weed: As part of the British hip-hop/R&B collective Big Brovaz, J-Rock laid down chart-topping rhymes about Friends on his way to becoming one of the biggest rappers in the U.K.
The Announcement: In 2006, J-Rock launched a TV show in England called Giving Up the Weed, in which he would go without smoking grass for thirty days after a fourteen-year habit.
Post Ganja: After the cameras turned off, Rock kept it up and entered into a staggering period of productivity: He appeared in a play in London, acted in a movie and got Big Brovaz back together to record an album for Universal.

Rev Run
With the Weed: Run made his name as one-third of the seminal hip-hop group Run-DMC, the first rap act to have an album in the top ten and crossover to pop success.

I think that was when he was young, single, and a megastar. He's older now and a pretty traditional family man these days, particularly since he became a man of the cloth. While he still has a cool relaxed vibe even as a Reverend, and I could see him having an empathetic stance, but, um, if you get to see how he's transformed into a serious family type over the years I could see him not okay with it, knowwaimean...?
