I don't think its an insult to Prince for MJ comments to appear in his forum's, they were both icons in the 80's, and its big news, I was never an MJ fan, but even I admit it was odd when he died, somnone who was always around you culturally as you grew up is suddenly gone.

I'd say there were 4 superstar artists in the 80's like that .... Madonna ... MJ ... Prince ... Springsteen .... now the first of 1 of those icons is dead, so all the fans related to any one of these icons will be affected.

I guess I never realized how much people still follow MJ. I lost interest in him a long time ago when he started getting Teddy Riley and other producers to write stuff for him. Yeah, he was a legend. But if you wanna talk about the human, which nobody seems to wanna do, he was a human wreck. That kinda ruins his reputation as far as I am concerned. I blame Joe.

MJ always had some of the loyallist (maddest!!!) fans around, I think with all the problems/accusations he has been through, you either get dissilussioned and lose interest or you deny it all and back him 100%, so he tends to get the extremes.

For some reason the MJ fans always seemed to have a rivalry with Prince and his fans, thats where this original thread came from, I guess its because MJ was going to do more nights at the O2 than Prince did, as if that made MJ better..... never quite got the logic in all that, music is a very personal thing, its not like 1 artist is better than the other, only way to judge is sales, and then that's based on popularity, and the main stream is normally not the best decider on the most talented, X factor ... Britains Got Talent etc proves that !!!!.

I never thought MJ would do anything like 30 nights, never mind 50, I think its disgusting how his managers/team booked him for so many nights, when everybody knows for years he's been fragile and ill, they just saw the ££££ rolling in when he kept selling out, so they sold more, I posted all this ages ago in the original concert forums.

Its a shame I was proved correct.
