OMG, this is one of my fave songs from the whols of the 80's, used to play it death!. Love the P feel to it, always imagined that The Time or Andre could have done this track.

i thought this song was ok. the fly girl rip always bothered me. also this song does not show off gary mudbone coopers voice talents. when he sang with bootsy his voice went so well with peanut. "munchies for your love" harmonies are excellent.

Don't laugh but I thought it was Julian Lennon when I first heard it. I thought" "Uh oh. Julian's about to follow up 'Valotte' with a jam"
I was wrong. "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page

According to this interview with the late Boogie Knight from the Boogie Boys, they sampled the Sly Fox tune:
JQ : Sly Fox had a song with the same beat as Fly Girl...what was the deal with that. BK : Actually that joint came out first and flopped !!! We were all with Platinum Vibe productions so I just took the throw away parts from that beat and flipped it....Fly Girl blew up and the Sly Fox joint was rereleased. Then when Melle Mel split from Flash ; his new Crew used our beat from "Breakdancer."

That Donna Allen song goes here as well. 1986-87-ish was a nice time in the 80's
