Stevie Wonder's song for Rotary Connection - "This Town" ...
Stevie was an early fan of this group and Minnie Riperton. He composed this track for their "Songs" album in 1969. By the way, that high-pitched melody in the background ain't a Theremin - it's Minnie at the top of her otherwordly, unbelievevable five and ahalf octave range--That shit is Whistle register, !!!!!. Lead Vocal - Sidney Barnes Background vocals - Minnie Riperton Organ, String Arrangements, conductor - Charles Stepney ... Beautiful tune! This serves as my reminder to pull out the What Color Is Love album by Terry Callier. I'm trying to listen to as much Charles Stepney as I can. His orchestrations were really gorgeous.
