Your First Five 45rpm Singles And/Or First Five Albums In Your Collection Ok, let go back for a moment and think about the very first 45 single records we EVER bought and/or the first five albums we ever had. They can be singles or albums you purchased or singles or albums someone gave you. I know I can list my first five albums I ever had in my collection. Singles are a little harder, but I think I know what ther were.
Singles 1. Stevie Wonder-Sir Duke 2. The Barkays-Let's Have Some Fun 3. The Barkays-Shake Your Rump To The Funk 4. Heatwave-Always And Forever 5. Stargard- Which Way Is Up??? Bonus: The next two singles were Stargard- Which Way Is Up??? Heatwave- The Groove Line My mom bought Stevie's second single for me at a popular record store chain in the 70's called The Record Bar for only 99 cents. She said Stevie's 2 record set was too much for her at the time. Needless to say, I was happy with the 45 rpm single. On my block back in the day, all the kids would love to come to my house, because I had a lot of great 45 r.p.m. records. We'd be in my huge living room, doing all of the latest dances of the day. Albums 1. Stevie Wonder-Songs In The Key Of Life 2. Commodores- Commodores Live!!! 3. Earth Wind And Fire- The Best Of Earth Wind And Fire Vol.1 4.The Jacksons- Destiny{The first album I bought with my own money. 5.Rick James-Fire It Up{I bought this one with my own money as well.. In the Christmas of 1979, I was given Michael Jackson's Off The Wall album by my parents}

The first 45 single I bought was...
***"Shadow Dancing" by Andy Gibb (1978)---In the summer of '78,you couldn't escape this song.It was everywhere! The Bee Gees were dominating the charts with their own 'Saturday Night Fever' album,and the songs they produced for other artists were getting heavy airplay too.They wrote,produced and sang on this song for their little brother Andy.I remember spending about a dollar for this 45. The first albums of my collection were... ***The 'Grease' soundtrack (1978) ***Donna Summer 'Live And More' (1978) ***Lipps Inc. 'Mouth to Mouth' (1980) ***Rick James 'Street Songs' (1981) ***Donna Summer 'Donna Summer' (1982)
