WTF is a Digi-Pak?

Awright, I admit it, I am totally in the dark about whatever a Digi-Pak is.

I've seen same title cds by the same artist in wreka stows and one is a Digi-Pak and the other is... well, justa CD I guess.

I can't find anthing different about them other than one says its a Digi-Pak.

Anybody?

Basically it's a cardboard (or mostly cardboard, even if it's shinny paper) case instead of the plastic with the paper inserts. Sometimes they include a booklet and in other cases they print the booklet on the casing. They are more like the way records sleeves, only almost all of them fold out. I like them but you got to treat them well. They for the most part aren't different but I remember in some cases they were said to be collectors editions (but they usually aren't unless like in the case of the Pet Shop Boys latest, they have an extra CD with extra content).

I hate those damn things. They make out they're actually good and somehow better. Give me a CD in a regular case any day.

Digipack:

Eco-Wallet

I think people are calling the eco-wallet a digipack. The digipack has some paper and some plastic. The eco-wallet is all paper.

Digipaks have similar plastic trays to jewel cases, Digisleeves are the ones that don't have such, but might resemble old LP sleeves, just in a miniature size.

That's a sleeve.

A digipak:
