great track,
but her best is "love/hate" from Beverly Hills Cop 2. One of the funkiest jam and lewis productions ever! oh yeah, and Pebbles is damn fine, way way too fine. Beyonce is second rate in looks compared to Pebbles.

Co-sign. • Did you first think Prince was gay? •
Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

I loved her until she went and fucked with TLC. Still love these old songs though.

I thought that Andre Cymone wrote/produced that song

Me too.I liked "Girlfriend" back in the day but I heard it recently and realized that it hasn't aged very well.

Andre Cymone wrote and produced Love/Hate for Pebbles (appeared in short form on BHC2 Soundtrack and longer form on Pebbles debut). Love/Hate is, in my opinion, one of Andre's best productions. Further proof that MPLS wasn't hurting for great writers/producers during that time period (not to mention the fact that they ALL had a hand in creating the MPLS sound).

Not me, however the bass is hot on this track. This song was the first time I heard of Pebb's. That whole album was hot except for like 2 songs. Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

Pebbles was/is beautiful. It ended there. Always with Cherelle was the best -- and only listenable -- thing Ms. Reid ever did. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I always thought she looked a lot like Halle in this video.
And didn't the "Mercedes Boy" become a woman? Someone on the org said that.

IMO, Pebbles was never pretty, she was just pretty light skin. Sometimes a light skin Black person is considered good looking just because they're light skin, look at the Debarge family.

Um, no. Debarge are very good looking and their light skin was not the only reason they were considered attractive and Pebbles, despite her stank ways, was and is, gorgeous. [Edited 5/6/09 15:09pm] "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

[Edited 5/6/09 15:09pm] Your opinion. My opinion, Debarge is hella talented, great musicians, good people (met a few) but overrated in the looks department, same with Prince.

I though Jam and lewis did it, as they did a few of her other songs. But yeah, production on Love/Hate is sick. Cymone is a genius. The album version is good, but the version on the Beverly Hills Cop 2 is bit more beefier, and has some nasty synths in there! Sounds fresh everytime you hear it, and its a 100% dance floor banger. I once made out with a hot chick to that song, as drove me really horny one night. Pebbles is incredibly fine, even today, smokin hot!

Love.These.Tacky.80's videos
I had my junior prom dress made to look like the red one she wears at the end...I sat down and sketched that bad boy out and took it right to one of my friend's aunties to give me the'Mercedes Boy' look. Nobody from school knew who Pebbles was let alone the video for this ( MTV was still a novelty back then with not as much influence), my red prom dress was a hit and is still hanging up in my parent's attic to this day. Whenever I visit my parents and go through the wardrobe I just start mumblin "do you wanna ride in my Mercedes boy..." [i] and nobody has any idea what the hell I'm talkin about

Nah, Babyface and L.A. did all of Pebbles music just like they did most of Karyn White's music.
