Mara said: 05 Never Forget You / Noisettes interesting, i really dug their last album. the tune you posted is ambitious, but seems a little too manufactured or slightly if not blantly genetically modified. i would be overly impressed if it's a 100% organic. and no, i'm not referring to a food item.

i really do look forward to enjoying -The Noisettes- latest effort, though.

Sinister, I typed out a really long, detailed personal review of Wild Young Hearts and my browser crashed Gah.
In fewer words, Wild Young Hearts finds the band at their most emotive. Imho, its the most experimental (in terms of arrangements) and risk-taking album of their catalogue. It is heavy in melodic hooks, harmony and ballads. There's even electronic elements in tracks like "So Complicated" and the almost Laurie Anderson-like "Cheap Kicks." Also "24 Hours" is my hands down, absolute favorite of the record and has quickly become one of my top Noisettes songs. It's magical to me. Your mileage may vary if you were wanting more of the harder, Fender-driven noise rock of the first record and EPs. But if you're up for a more love-soaked, contemplative Noisettes, it's a good adventure to take.

Thanks. I really hope you get a chance to hear it soon. The more it sinks in the more enthused I get by it. "Never Forget You" is really getting a lot of spins by me. In error I said So Complicated had electronic elements, it's actually the tune that follows it "Saturday Night" -- another awesome track on the album. This album is just really warm and textured. Will be on my list of my favorite albums of 2009 -- everyday I listen to it I feel it more and more.

I can't think of 10 songs I like right now from 2009.
But I am listening to Calvin Harris - I Created Disco Still listening to the albums: Rooney - Calling The World. Great CD. | Eric Hutchinson - Sounds Like This | Mika - Life In Cartoon Motion (has a new CD due soon) Somehow, my neighbor has gotten me knowing the words to "If You Seek Amy", which annoys me since I hate that person who sings it. I honestly can't think of anything. There's so much SHIT on the radio, that I ignore about 98% of it. I do like Wendy & Lisa's new CD. Wasn't sure if I would, but I do. I like Ciara's "Love Sex Magic", but that's it from her. Couldn't care less otherwise what she does. I like the JT duet and old school style. Oh.....I also like Ghostland Observatory. Of course I heard about him from that Kia commercial w/ the hamsters. And um....did anyone notice a very familiar drum sample in "Acceptable In The 80's" from Calvin? Sounds like a 2 beat sample from "Computer Blue" to me. There's another group, a duo that is a lot like Calvin Harris. I can't think who they are. They were on SNL a couple of months ago. Very much reminded me of new wave from the early 80's. I even downloaded it, ,and now can't remember them. lol How bad is that? Something about ghosts or spirits or something in their name I think. SHIT what is it?!?! [Edited 5/13/09 22:08pm]

Sounds like a 2 beat sample from "Computer Blue" to me. I love that album. It's honestly one of my Top 5 albums of this decade. When it first came out I played it almost every day straight for a full year. "The Girls" is one of my absolute favorite songs of this era. It's a jackpot of euphoria. It's just addictive and simple, I love it. Ah, you saw that commercial, too. I was wondering who was advertising products with Calvin Harris music. I wasn't looking at the TV screen, but I heard the music of "Colours." And I was like "Woah! What was that?!" Hearing Calvin in an American TV advert is great. I'm glad he's starting to gain more attention here, his music deserves it. The more I hear him out on the street or on TV or a diner or wherever, the better. I WISH a live album came out of I Created Disco. You should really hear him perform live. It enhances everything on the album and it just becomes a new experience when you add rock guitars and live drums on top of it. His shows are like big pogo, dance-offs. Dance your head off, jump your head off. Seen him perform 3 times (twice with he and and his band and a few months ago at a DJ set -- he opened and closed with "I'm Not Alone"). That song is definitely awesome. It's one of my faves of '09 instantly. ... [Edited 5/15/09 12:58pm]
