I was wondering about this myself. But she said just a few months ago that she was studying classical because she wanted to venture into different things. I wonder if she's still at it and when we'll hear new stuff--if ever.

Sista Franklin said she was studying or taking classes at Juliard. Or, at least she'd plan too.

Didn't know it was Juliard. The way she spoke I thought she was currently studying. I hope someting comes of it. And I do wish she'd play more.

She still plays. There was a park dedication in her father's honor here not too long ago in Detroit and she played and sang there.

Cause due to the size of her breasts and stomach, she can no longer see the keys to play.

She still plays the piano. I saw a recent interview on TV-One and she played piano at the end of it. Still sounded great. smile

I don't think there could be an Aretha thread without jokes about her weight.

Anyway, I've had a few friends see her and she didn't play at all. I guess it's a crap shoot. She didn't play when I saw her years ago but I'd like to see it live just once.

I didn't see her appearance on "Ellen" (since I always wake up pass 11, lol) but I saw her play the piano on "Oprah" singing "So Damn Happy" when she promoted that album.
