I'd buy it because I haven't heard many of the songs on Disc 1 and many of the remixes. Love Janet! Prince Rogers Nelson

I think Design Of A Decade was alright but I never bought it because it only had songs from Control and Rhythm Nation and that wasn't a fair representation of that decade "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I would love a COMPLETE JJ set. Virgin, yet again, has dropped the ball on that one - the ship has sailed, don't see it happening until the bitch is 70. They should though - DAD has never had the success of Immaculate Collection, History Disc 1, etc etc.
But three discs of Virgin/A&M hits is WAAAAAY too long. 2 discs. Something like: Disc 1 1. Young Love 2. Say You Do 3. Come Give Your Love to Me 4. Don't Stand Another Chance 5. What Have You Done For Me Lately 6. Nasty 7. Control 8. When I Think of You 9. The Pleasure Principle 10. Lets Wait Awhile 11. Miss You Much 12. Rhythm Nation 13. Escapade 14. The Knowledge 15. Alright 16. Escapade 17. Love Will Never Do 18. Black Cat Disc 2 1. Someday is Tonight 2. That's the Way Love Goes 3. Again 4. Anytime, Anyplace 5. You Want This 6. If 7. Scream (feat. Michael Jackson) 8. Got Til It's Gone (feat. Q Tip) 9. Together Again 10. Go Deep 11. I Get Loney 12. All For You 13. Someone to Call My Lover 14. Son of A Gun (feat Missy Elliott) 15. Doesn't Really Matter 16. All Nite Don't Stop 17. R&B Junkie 18. Call on Me (feat. Nelly) End it on a (minor) hit! [Edited 4/29/09 17:12pm] [Edited 4/29/09 17:13pm] I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

cool lists. but i'm guessing if they put any real effort into it, this is most likely what we'd actually get in a 2 cd retrospective.
1. Young Love * 2. Don't Stand Another Chance * 3. What Have You Done For Me Lately 4. Nasty 6. Control 7. When I Think of You 8. The Pleasure Principle 9. Lets Wait Awhile 10. Miss You Much 11. Rhythm Nation 12. Escapade 13. Alright * 14. Escapade 15. Love Will Never Do 16. Black Cat Come Back To Me * 17. That's the Way Love Goes 18. Again 19. You Want This * 20. If 21. Together Again 22. I Get Lonely * 23. All For You 24. Someone to Call My Lover 25. Son of A Gun (feat Missy Elliott) * 26. Doesn't Really Matter 27. All Nite Don't Stop * 28. Call on Me (feat. Nelly) 29. Feedback 30. Rock With U * * songs i think they would possibly leave off.

It would have to be like an Ultimate Collection to have all this on it - Decade was good to a point in that it captured the hits to that point and the silver case limited edition set was awesomely produced. I like the idea of including b-sides like Skin Game and You need Me, but if it was to appeal to the hardcore fan it would have to have tracks we had never heard or already own. I like it, but the completist in me would be annoyed with remixes that weren't the proper single version of the song. Single mixes of "Let's Wait Awhile" and "Black Cat", "I Get Lonely" would be alright, and I'd even accept the video mixes of "Pleasure Principle", and "When I Think of You", but I wouldn't want the remixes of "Miss You Much", "Nasty", "Again", "Scream", even if they are good mixes (which they are).
If they were appended as extra cuts, then I'd be all for it however. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

You could catch me buying anything of the sort. Design Of A Decade definitely needs an update though.
And who owns A&M's catalog these days? I swear these types of compilations would be easier now more than ever with all the labels being owned by only a few different head companies.

Disc 1 & 2 don't look bad, but I would've ended disc 3 with track 12.
Oh, and "Throb (David Morales Legendary Dub Mix)" is a MUST. • Did you first think Prince was gay? •
Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

Oh, and "Throb (David Morales Legendary Dub Mix)" is a MUST. when I was coming up with the tracklist, I had it on there, but took it off at the last minute Ending the set on All For You? I kinda thought it would be a good idea to review all the albums... "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Yeah, I see what you were trying to do, but (for ME) Janet hasn't recorded an album since then I let "Just A Little While" slide. • Did you first think Prince was gay? •

But, honestly, it's one of the best fan-made Janet comps I've ever heard. It should've been released as a real album. Remixes by Party Ben, Janet vs. RuPaul "Supermodel Escapade," Kaskade, Solcofn, Bangalter Rock Shock Mix of "Black Cat", goodness, I wish I never lost it.
