I can chalk up attending his show @ Reunion Arena in the late 80's, as being one of the best concerts I've attended.

That was a memory I will NEVER forget. I saw Luther 6 or 7 times. He always delivered live. I can remeber his last Dallas show on September 11 2002 as if it were yesterday. That show was shown during the UNCF telethon in January 03. I still have it recorded (somewhere). **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I STILL kick myself that I didn't see him in the 90s the various times that he came. Now, I make it a point to see most "legends" when they come thru regardless of if I'm a fan or not.

I have to remember Vandross is no longer with us. Thanks DaPrettyman for the remembrence/tribute. How old would Vandross have been?
The first time I saw Mr. Vandross is was the opeining act for Gladys Knight and the Pips..this was early 1981. Soon after he debut hit the charts and I saw him 5 times after that in concert.

Mine too! There aren't too many Luther ballads that are bad. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Here's a clip of Luther, Nile Rodgers, Fonzi Thornton and Carlos Alomar on Sesame Street in 1969.
Can you identify the others?

The duet he did with Gregory Hines, "There's Nothing Better Than Love" is my favorite Luther track of all time.

Nile is darker than that and his lips are bigger than that. I know it was 10 years earlier (before we got to know him), but that does not look like Nile.
