Yeah, I think everyone has pegged it right--you have to be in the mood for it, but it does have some great pieces ...

Wendy & Lisa are what give this album a little extra sumthin sumthin for me. The music is too beautiful to turn off, even in the sadness. Cinnie, I thought you knew! ^ All true. Truly a work of absolute beauty and honesty. Like others have stated, the title track is heart-wrentching. Of course this album came out right in the middle of a "bitter" break up for me as well so there ya go. I remember cold fall/winter nights listening to this on headphones and thinking how I've never heard an album lyrically speak to me as much as this. And I'm generally not a lyric type guy. Btw, her remake of Jimi Hendrix's May this Be love is sublime, meditative and dare I say perfect. Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

Anyway, I saw Bitter at Best Buy for $14.99 and was thinking about coppin' it, but I thought I should get a review again. The album cover has been in a few "what are you listening to now" threads, but has there been a discussion on it? Has anyone pointed out what SONGS they like on it? OWN IT!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!! COP IT!!!!!

You've noticed that album cover floating around here too right? I swear it pops up at least once in every "what are you listening to" thread

Btw, besides Wendy & Lisa contributions, it also has Doyle Bramhall on it as well. Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

Cin doesn't have Bitter??
This cd is the truth. No you aren't going to put it on for a backyard bbq, and thank god for that. I remember waiting for her follwoup to Peace Beyond...waiting for some deep funk. She slipped Bitter on us becasue of what she was going through. It was unexpected. It was off center. It was brilliant. It IS great.
