As performed by "The Council Quartet"
The second best version of this song, the best being the original Paul Weller vocal with a verse sung in French. In case you didn't know, Dee's ex father in law John Weller died last week. A gentleman amongst the other sharks in band management.

I'll change it to "Dee C Lee and The Council Quartet" What are the best shops to buy "Mr. Cool's Dream"? I'm looking for it at a good price "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. I'm looking for it at a good price I think it's best to buy direct from the author, Iain Munn: http://imunn.magix.net/website/ Even with postage it would probably be cheaper than Amazon as he offers a discount. Tell him Pacey told you about the book and ask him to sign it for you

It's okay but I prefer the Paul and Dee's versions "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

The original and best (imo) version sung by Paul. Recorded in Paris with accordian, a verse in French and backing vocals by respected French session singer Rebecca Bell. The Paris Match doesn't get more "Parisienne" than this version.

Weller defends The Style Council vehemently to this day - and so he should. They were a cracking band, totally underrated (even now), and totally ahead of their time. Weller anticipated what is now known as r n b with The Cost of Loving and cut a house album when it was still an underground genre. Anyway, I prefer the Weller sung Paris Match. Then Dee's. Never did like the Cafe Bleu version, even though Tracie Thorn's voice is a thing of exceptional beauty. Never fitted the track. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently
