Nice pick...I myself wrote a thread about this very song on here. It's one of my favorites by Hendrix. Jimi wrote this on an old harpsichord that was in the studio. To me, it's a very underrated song. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

The mix is terrible. It is very muddy indeed. The sound really annoys me.
Apparantly noel redding came up with the intro.

Everything that has been documented regarding Jimi, i.e. books, magazine articles, etc., that I have, all claim that Hendrix is the sole writer of this song. Personally, I believe that IF Noel or anyone else had a hand in writing this, Jimi would have given proper credit. Eddie Kramer, who engineered the session, states that Jimi wrote the song on a harpsichord that was in the studio. The intro, verse, pre-chorus, the hook, the whole shebang. Then he just doubled the lick with his wah. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

A classic for sure. I like the short instrumental on the 4 disc box set.

What's on this? I wouldn't know the subtle differences between released albums and rarities or weird versions.

What's on this? I wouldn't know the subtle differences between released albums and rarities or weird versions. It sounds as if it was something he recorded at the split second when he was in thestudio. You can hear him talking to someone at the beginning. Its all on (I want to say) disc one and runs about a minute and a half. It is harpsicord driven and may have appeared on other collections before. "Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."
