I agree with several reasons already posted.

Her overexposure at the moment definitely has to be one reason why she's not selling as fast.

The high end of her ticket prices (like many others) are ridiculous. Money is tight nowadays for lots of people, so high ticket prices for the good seats really pisses me off. Many of these new artists are already multi-millionaires and instead of trying to boost their fans' spirits with a great show at a reasonable price during this time of economic hardship some of them choose to be greedy assholes. People want to enjoy a good concert, but also be able to pay their rent next month. If I had $200 just to throw away and spend on anyone's concert, it would be Prince and only Prince, because he's outstanding live. Beyonce's good, but she ain't that damn good.

Now, if her floor seats were less than $100, than that wouldn't be that bad, because she does put on one hellava show from LIVE performances I've seen. The nosebleeds may be cheap, but sometimes you can barely enjoy the show because you're soo high up. Sometimes, you're better off just waiting for the DVD release; because you know she's going to do a DVD release (they all do nowadays) and DVDs are much cheaper, have better sound quality, and you always get the best shots and a front row seat.

The fact that she made over $80 million dollars last year doing so many other ventures is another reason I wouldn't pay for her concert. She's loaded and makes plenty of money with endorsements and other business ventures. Does she really need the ticket money that badly? She'll probably be touring in the next 2 years again anyway, so no need to rush.

Well, at least, her new movie opened strong. She can be happy about something. nod

If she made people miss her in concert, they would have gone to see her. It doesn't seem like that long ago she toured and the show aired on BET and was promoted everywhere in commercials when the DVD was released.

What's her demographic audience? 20s? 30s? Tweens?

I agree about the over-exposure and the ticket prices in a time where people are pulling in the purse strings. I mean, if she can be seen in the movies (for 10-12 $s) and can be seen constantly singing on TV - who needs to pay to see her in concert?

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

It's probably because of the economy. Yes, U2, Madonna, and Bruce Springsteen are selling out stadiums, but they also have a long history of doing extraordinary live shows. But I'm sure Beyonce will do just fine.

BTW, who the hell is this gossip reporter? He combines the worst qualities of Perez Hilton with the constant whining about pop acts by Jim Derogatis.

I'm sure it's the bad economy too. Yes, U2, Madonna, and Bruce Springsteen, fans *cough* our lil' older and have deeper pockets.

madonna, bruce, and u2 haven't always had an "older" audience with "deeper pockets" yet they've ALWAYS sold out their shows.

sorry kid, its about the music and the music ain't worth paying for live. if you went to a bruce, u2, or madonna show, you'd see ALL age ranges and lots of each in attendance. just sayin'.

For one, I'm not a kid.

If you feel the need, read further down the thread for why you can't compare Ms, Knowles with the other veteran acts mentioned.

I'm suprised ticket sales aren't stronger. I may not like her music all that much, but Beyonce is one of the best performers of her generation.

These entertainers...

Most people are adjusting their priorities..

Things will never be the same for them.

The New York Yankees has to drop ticket price$, because the people's eyes are opened.

They cannot, and will not spend like they used to..

The result wll be another market crash.

The wealthy won't spend either.

Instead of putting the stimulus $$$ in the hands of the people who need it the most, they paid the same ones who will hord the wealth.

Most people are going to put the $$$ back inot the economy anyway..

Entertainers will suffer on their tours and releases.. Still, a good number are rich anyway. They don't really seem to fight for the people who listen to their music. They keep singing those same songs of bad relationships, and fun, and people aren't feeling that way any longer..

Yeah, she is the most overexposed celebrity in pop music right now.She appears on EVERY awards show, even the award shows for the musical genres that she's not even a part of lol She has appeared on the Latin Grammy awards. What's next...Beyonce hosting the Country Music Awards? lol.She releases not one,but TWO singles/videos at the same time.I can see why there is no big urgency to see her in concert.
