'Pretty Wings' grew on me

I'm listening to 'Bad Habits' on the radio now, and it's nice too...not spectacular, but nice I can see it growing on me too

He seems to be using his voice in a bit of a different way on both Bad Habits and Cold. He isn't showcasing the "pretty" so much, focusing more on the raspy. Thats both interesting and risky, good for him.
Bad Habits has grown on me and I really like Pretty Wings. Not a fan of Cold.

Think raw, very raw. And kinda a low-fi production.
A 70's vibe production maybe? I dunno.

I enjoy Max but I'm not feeling this cd. I've heard the whole thing "PRETTY WINGS" is kinda nice but that's it. It was probably better to give us all 3 cd's at once. Here is hoping D'angelo's cd doesn't let me down as well. I'm sure he'll have more tracks.

Quite honestly, all the other reviews I am reading are people loving this album and saying that it's addictive. I am very happy with the 5 songs that I heard so far. Will every song be a single? No.

This is my thread baby, let's keep it positive. If you don't like it, saying it once is sufficient.

Has anybody heard "Smile" The Alchemist feat. Maxwell and Twista?

Ive decided not to listen to any more singles past Cold. I can't get a sense of the album and think I want to experience the whole thing in sequence.

Possum could have been really great. Emotional lyrics, but it's too playful for such a subject

It's a good record. It's just mature, modern soul music from start to finish, and it has a whole lot of great horn arrangements. It could be a bit longer definitely, as I don't understand how it is supposed to be so crucially tied to some sort of a "concept" that necessarily would lead to the music he's recorded for the project being released "in three parts".
