Oh yeah she coverd I Didnt Mean TO Turn You On and Just Be Good To Me (live only)too

Don't forget "Funkin For Jamacia" and "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life" were remakes for that project.

She also sampled Make It Last Forever for the remix of "Thank God I Found You".

Oh yeah that was a total remake.

She also revamped The Loose Ends' "Stay A Little While" for the My All Remix and "If You SHould Ever Be Lonely" by Val Young.

She sure did do alot now that I am thinking

The rhythm of the singing on "Beautiful Ones" is a little off and I don't really want to hear Dru Hill on it.

But otherwise I enjoy her remakes, and I'm finna make a Mariah covers playlist after everyone finishes remembering and listing them here.

the wind (she wrote her own lyrics for this piece)
i'll be there
without you
open arms
the beautiful ones
i still believe
do you know where you're going to
against all odds
didn't mean to turn you on
last night a dj saved my life
bringing on the heartbreak

from live performances:

don't play that song for me
just be good to me
if only you knew/somewhere over the rainbow
chain of fools (w/aretha)
got to be real (w/patti)
hopelessly devoted to you (w/olivia newton john)
lady marmalade (w/patti and other singers)
you & i
with you i'm born again (w/john legend)
baby love/stop in the name of love (w/diana ross)
ain't no mountain high enough (w/dinana ross, donna,, etc)
i'll be there (w/wanya morris of boys ll men)

To be honest, it's a shitty song and putting Mariah's shitty vocals on it just makes the shit pile a little deeper & higher.

for the record though, MARIAH is on the top of the list of artists that need a total 100% overhaul. She needs to clean house big time, lose the "formula" that she has been using on every album since "butterfly" lose the guest spots on her albums, and the overproduction. This is why very little she has done is memorable, she is like Barry Bonds, she may set records, but looking back most wont remember her.

Her work on GLITTER was the only "right step" she has taken. The covers were excellent because she was singing the type of songs she could fit with. Doing #1 ballads is a joke, why cover Foreigner,Journey,Nilson,Lionel Richie, you cant improve it, and they always come out sounding as lame as Celine Dion singing Heart's "Alone".

Her remake of "I Still Believe" wasn't very good, either. The original version by Brenda K.Starr is effectively wistful and emotional.Mariah's version is flat and boring.

How dare you? .. . cry ...how dare you. Her version was the one that was flat it needed more umph.

No,the original is perfect lol In 1988,I went out and bought Brenda's cassette after hearing "I Still Believe".I was hooked on that song for months. It's not just the vocals....the production is better on Brenda's version, too.

Some artists are good at remakes, some aren't.Luther Vandross was a master at remakes. He could make you forget the original.Mariah's remakes are never as good as the original, imo.
