I wonder if Babyface settled out of court for this? http://www.youtube.com/wa...tHadAigayc [Edited 4/22/09 10:52am] I'm sure that her CD is older. "What, for her new album?" Yes. I don't have any idea if it's true or not. In Mariah's defense she does have some early songs that are great to balance her covers out. I agree on the covers. I like Open Arms and Without You but I wasn't crazy about the rest of her covers. "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page

There are hundreds of other, better songs that she can cover. I like "I Want To Know" well enough but I don't think it's the right choice of a song for her to cover. Unless she does something totally different from the original arrangement, I don't think it's going to be that great. I heard a while ago she performed Chaka Khan's "Night Moods" in concert several years ago. Now, that would be one hell of a cover if she went with that one! It certainly suits her voice more than the Foreigner song. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

My favourite Mariah song along with "all i ever wanted" and "till the end of time" I didn't realise how many covers of BIG hits he has done, especially since she's a 'singer/songwriter'... Can't stand "I'll be there' but liked 'without you' - Was 'The Wind' a cover?

Oddly I listened to the original for the first time about three years ago, just about twelve years after hearing Mariah's version (Nillson actually died around the time Mariah released her version oddly enough) and I kept thinking "why did Mariah mess that track up?" Nilsson's version is a cover, too. The song was written by Pete Ham and Tom Evans of Badfinger - it first appeared on their 1970 album, "No Dice".

I did too I think its better in my opinion. But Im not looking 4ward to this remake..but it will be better than some tired r&b slow jam she had put on the last album..I hated ALL those slow songs on e=MC2 except for I Wish You Well, wich is in a class of its own unfortunatley Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Brenda sounded flat in parts in her version (to me). However, I still that remake is pretty bad. Especially when she's singing the verses. She was slurring her words at that time (like she did with most of the songs on the Charmbracelet album). **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-
