The Brothers Wilson of Panama/Brooklyn, NY.....Heard some say they were a wannabe Santana, but I thought they were closer 2 Funk/Soul like Santana was closer 2 Jazz/Rock

If you dig Mandrill, you must download our recent radio show special. Ric and Lou Wilson joined us live on the show, and the talk got so deep that we had to shorten out playlist. It's a great interview, and the brothers are heavily promoting it on the Mandrill website.

I LOVE Mandrill!!!!! They hold the distinction of being the first band whose music I bought based solely on the cover of the album. It was the Mandrill Anthology. Back somewhere in the late 1990s, I was in a Coconuts record store and took one look at them and said they had to be funky!!! I wore that 2-disc set out.
They are criminally underrated. Thanks for posting the clips. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

Yes the Fencewalk Anthology only wet mah appetite. They have some even funkier work later after they switched labels. There is an excellent Wax Poetics cover issue as well as a slamming Live at Montreaux DVD also available at www.thefunkstore.com

This record is worth checking out also for its Mandrill covers:
It's scary how faithful a rendition they've made of "Fencewalk".
