Some new stuff: Empire of the Sun - "Walking on a Dream" I've been hearing this song on the radio for a few weeks and even saw the video a few days ago on TV but didn't notice what the band's name was or the song title... First I thought it was MGMT but didn't find the song in their "repertoire"... then I wondered if it was some new French band because I thought the way the lead singer says "the thrill of it" sounded French.
But finally, yesterday I discovered that it's the Australian duo Empire of the Sun with the title track of their album, "Walking on a Dream", released in Australia in October 2008 and earlier this year in Europe. I just bought their album, although I haven't "digested" it fully yet, so far it sounds good and it doesn't strike me as a MGMT knock-off though the title track does sound a bit like them.... But anyway, here's the video for the song:

I like the song...to me it sounds like a song released in the 80's, [Edited 4/11/09 11:45am]

It's a fantastic song. I really enjoy it. It's perfect synthpop. The video is gorgeous, so glad they featured it in YouTube HD. The thing I like most about "Walking On A Dream" is how cleansing it feels. You feel like you've been relieved and lifted of a burden; and the past -- while you're aware it occurred -- doesn't matter anymore. That's what I take away from the melody and the atmosphere of the tune. It's transcendent.
Nick Littlemore is also in PNAU. If you haven't already, check out a great tune of his other band entitled "With You Forever." It glows like something out of Chic's late seventies catalogue.

A great duo from Australia - Empire of the Sun's album is well worth a listen - refreshing melodic electro pop.
This album has been on my high rotation for several months now. Check it. Swa "I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. I am love"
