Well, normally I would say that Shitney Houston is the biggest sellout in music history until someone brought up a very good point to me. She couldn't sellout if she was never funky to begin with. If she's always been a little pop princess goodie two shoes, black Paris Hilton barbie doll cheerleader of her day, that never had an ounce of rhythm or funk in her since the day she was born, then she never sold out because being a dull ass was just in her to begin with and she couldn't do no better than doing some stale ass adult contemporary pop. She should have still put her foot down and hollered..."I don't want my music played on black R&B radio because I'm a little goodie two shoes pop princess". lol

I dunno she had a lil funk in her on that Material album with Bill Laswell back about '81. Plus with Cissy & Dionne's dna she gotta have a dose of it down in there. Hell she's street. It was A&R that tried to market her as princess we see the truth came out eventually.

As for Lionel he once said he made music for everybody. And he went to the bank too.

R&B Skeletons (In the Closet)- crossing over and can't get black.

Only play the class gigs never making it to the bridge we got R&B skeletons in the closet.

Sing and play but never shout for if we did it would let it out we got R&B skeletons in the closet.

Though he's crossed over he's definitely from down under the bridge, he used to take it there, songs we used to sang thangs we used to do we dont' do no more.

Party started long ago but there's no one on the floor get that classic R&B out the closet. Sex Machine by James Brown Funkadelic throwin down don't they know thats how the party started?
