Still, you do not have the facts

eek

What "facts" are needed that would justify that vicious beatdown of her? The ONLY fact that calls for THAT kind of beatdown - SHE pulled a weapon on him and he just totally went ballistic and lost it.

hmmm She could have pulled a metal nail file on him, a car key (which she supposedly had in her hand and than threw out the window...like a dumbass rolleyes), or even a sharp stiletto (which she was wearing at the time). Anything can be used as a weapon...even acrylic nails, which she had at her disposal; seriously, why didn't this chick fight back again, I just don't get it. confuse I just can't believe that her beatdown was a result of her doing absolutely nothing to him; and if someone else did witness the brawl, that person really should be in that courtroom testifying right now as to what they saw. Unfortunately, it was just the two of them, so it's a matter of he said, she said; and she ain't testifying against him, so he'll probably walk because she insists on protecting him and making herself look like a jackass in the process...oh, well, that's her problem in the end. shrug

Sorry, but if she doesn't open her mouth and testify against him and say what really happened, than she's not really all that innocent to me. The only reasons she has to not testify against him is: 1) She's afraid of him retaliating, which doesn't make any sense because she hangs with some people who can easily fuck Chris up, 2) She's still in love with him, like most women who allow a man to hit them, and I don't feel sorry for them either (*cough*morons*cough*); or 3) she hit him first and instigated the whole fight, which makes her just as guilty as he is, because nobody has the right to put their hands on another person without that person's permission. Female or not, she's not allowed to hit another person unless in self-defense and she obviously chose not to do that because she got fucked up. Instigators deserve what they get IMO and if she started it, I just can't feel sorry for her no matter how bad she get beaten...if she started it; he finished it...both guilty, case closed. If you're going to pick a fight with someone, make sure it's someone who isn't physically able to jack you up...unless you enjoy getting a good ass-whoopin...there are actually some people who enjoy getting beaten, so shrug

I think he should have at least plead 'no contest', because that doesn't say you're innocent or guilty, but pleading 'not guilty' is utter bullshit, because there are photos and evidence proving otherwise. But, I just don't believe that he just whipped her ass just to do it; he doesn't come of as being that stupid to me because he has a lot at stake. I still don't see how she allowed him to beat her up that bad and dude was actually in the driver seat the majority of the time...fighting someone with a steering wheel in your way isn't really all that easy. Why the fuck didn't she burn his ass with the cigarette lighter or something, what, Lambourginis don't come with cigarette lighters? Until someone admits what actually initiated the whole ordeal, neither of them is innocent in my opinion, because neither of them had the right to assault the other PERIOD. Just my twocents .

Maybe she did? Or maybe she can't fight? And there are people in life that don't need much, if any, provocation to make them "go off".

sad Guilty as charged. How can you not listen to "Your Body's Calling" or "Slow Wine For Me"? confused

But I have never been a Robert Kelly fan. He tried his best to sound too much like Aaron Hall when he started and I hated that. But those two songs I mentioned are wicked.

Bold type:

1. Maybe she was too terrified to fight back at the time. From the reports he hit her stopped, then tried to kill her because she faked a call to the police.

2. I honestly can't say what I'd do to a woman if she hit me. I've been on planet earth for 37 years and counting and have never hit a woman for any reason. But beating the shit out of a woman, biting her and choking her because she hit me first would be inexcusable.

Chris Brown saw his mother getting the shit kicked out of her as a little boy, which is the exact reason why men who batter women batter women. They have been brought up to believe it's the right way to handle disputes with the opposite sex. He needs help, I won't say jail time, but a fine, community service and serious counseling.

I think the difference between Chris Brown and James Brown, etc is that Chris Brown wasn't that great a performer, and talent, to be able to keep the focus off the scandal. Instead, since he is a so-so talent, and is a "star" in the age where scandal sells, he has to resort to milking this whole thing with an apology song. I wish he would take it like a man and plead "guilty." It is clear he is.

Nah I think the difference... it's a different time and lot of things were acceptable when he was at his height aren't acceptable or seen as a private matter. Just as racial slurs were common place.. it's not acceptable now, at least not in public.

Mr. James Brown didn't have to deal with 24 hour news cycle, the Internet, gossip/parpazzi, nor everyone owning a cellphone/camera/video either.

Once-upon-a-time music industry "handlers" and the artist/musician's "people" would've have kept such scandal's from becoming front page news..
[Edited 4/16/09 8:53am]

Exactly, the stars back then did not have to deal with any of that crap, nor did they have to deal with the commercialization of their craft, and the overplay, does anyone doubt that if the net and media existed during Diana Ross's day, she wouldnt be doing a BEYONCE.

I'm not certain being accused of or being charged with violating the law and commercialization are one in the same. When Ms. Ross was charged with DUI a couple of years ago... 20, 30 or 40 years ago, DUI wasn't seen as a serious violation of the law either. The mindset of the courts, law enforcement and the public has been educated and mindsets change to understand the serious ramifications of driving under the influence. Along with those things I mentioned plus technology... things have changed. We didn't have dash board cameras and mics in the grills of police cars either 20/30 years ago either.
