Howard has been in radio for 30 years, has a very loyal following (most people don't think that Jamie's channel is even worth the bandwidth and paycheck...are people really subscribing for Foxxhole?) and doesn't just blurt out crazy shit out of nothing. When he does say things about celebrities, it is often thought out and in context of something more than just some dumb phone caller (which Howard has plenty of). And Howard has done the apology thing....when he said he didn't like Selena's music when she died. People (fans) thought he was insulting her as a person so rather than just try to explain, he broke down. Now if he said something funny about Miley Cyrus, he probably wouldn't have to apologize because it was funny, in context and not lame.

I would wager that whole exchange was nothing unlike things most of us have said with our friends in our living rooms. Hell, I've read way more hateful stuff on this very website. HOWEVER, it was being broadcast and there's being edgy and taking shots at pop culture and then there's throwing insults at a teenager. It was pretty classless and they owe her a public apology.

I think he went a little too far with "make a sex tape and do some heroin". I don't think it was racist at all. And it is satellite subscription radio so he can say whatever the fuck he wants just like any other host on a premium entertainment medium.
