i can't believe how bad the whole DJ project was fucked up.

Had this or All Nite be released the day after the Superbowl or the day of things might have been different.

It's just an outtake, and a popular one. There's a good handful of outtakes from the past few albums. I wish she'd put out a CD of just those songs.

I like the rock edge. It goes well with "Just A Little While". I thought I read somewhere that this style was the original direction the album was going in, but then it got changed to what was eventually released.

"Damita Jo" could have been a hot dance pop album (filled with different styles) but they had to pad it with midtempo R&B and crap sex ballads.

You know, I thought she was about to dust that off to release this year. She kept talking about how it was shot in HD in during the promotion for this last tour and cd. I wish she would come on.

Ahh, Damita Jo era.

I'm on IMEEM listening to a bunch of old Janet songs in succession "Love Me (Just Blaze)," "Just A Little While (Peter Rauhofer Remix)," "If."

"Love Me (Just Blaze)" was the illest outtake from the DJ sessions, imo. I remember walking around midtown on a humid summer afternoon blasting that on a brick-heavy iPod.

Wow. "Alright" just came on. God, the memories of all this. God.

Janet's music brings about very sharp memories from my past. I become instantly reflective/thought-heavy when I hear anything by her now. It's amazing what all these songs meant.

For me too, for sure. Esp Janet and Madonna. Tina and Michael's music too; but esp Madonna's back catalouge, and even more especially Janet's. Hearing ANY track off "Janet." "The Velvet Rope" "Damita Jo" or even "All For You..." man, oh man, the high school, the crushes, the one true relationship I've ever had...man, oh man, Jan's music froze moments in time for me. Esp "My Need" or "Go Deep"...so true!

I had one. I found an 1814 pin at Spencer's Gifts. I LOVED that thing. I found a black ball cap at some store in the Beverly Center in Los Angeles, and it had a metal plate on the bill. The plate had a few holes in it for interest. I pinned that 1814 pin on the hat (it was a good sized pin, not a small thing by any means), and voila.....I had me an 1814 ball cap. I had a little bit longer hair at the time and like any Janet fag, I put my pony tail through the hole in the back of the ball cap (where the adjustment tab is located). hahaha

This song is too erratic and the hook actually detracts from the verses. Also, when you change "feels" in the middle of a song, it usually puts the average listener off if its done suddenly. Bobby socks rock doesn't mix well with funk-hop. shrug
There were a couple of good ideas in there that could have been separated into two songs. I understand why it didn't make the cut. However, the song does have great energy.
