You know something? I had misjudged the Marvelettes for years. I felt that the Supremes & Martha and the Vandellas had better material but now I'm revising my earlier opinion. I feel the Marvelettes had some of the best material especially in the early years and they kept it up until at least 1968. Plus they had two lead singers who can sing the hell out of a song. I often wonder why they weren't promoted more after 1964 besides Berry Gordy choosing Diana to lead his kingdom. Maybe they were too soulful for Motown? Nonetheless, their story is actually real sad.

I could'nt agree with you more Timmy84! I've always adored the Marvelettes and considered them the best of all the girl groups, The Velvelettes are my 2nd fav.....Don;t get me wrong i love Martha & The Vandellas, The Supremes. The Marvelettes do it for me each and every time. The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game is GENIUS.....Wanda Young wears this song out and sounding so sexy and seductive on this classic it sounds GREAT today! Sad story about them yes but LEGENDS in my book and i wonder what is taking so long to release an anthology on this legendary girl group and give us some unreleased gems as well, Kim Weston,The Velvelettes,Brenda Holloway & even Chris Clark has anthologies....Come on MOTOWN what gives??
