My two all-time least favorite disco songs are both in the top 10:

6. I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor
9. Ring My Bell - Anita Ward
ill

And the #1 song on this chart always gets on my nerves:

1. My Sharona - The Knack

barf

I love 'My Sharona' and my family felt the same way about it that you do.
I have it on my IPod of course.
I don't think it was ever written to be a hit but who knew?
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

One of my favorite albums also.
Simply incredible. Right up there with 'Purple Rain.' I think there is only one song I don't love on the album (same as 'Purple Rain.')
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

2. Bad Girls - Donna Summer
3. Le Freak - Chic
4. Da Ya Think I'm Sexy - Rod Stewart (It's not art, but it is a good song).
6. I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor
12. MacArthur Park - Donna Summer (This is actually one of my favorite Donna Summer songs, after "I Remember Yesterday. The ways she holds those notes is insane!)
16. Tragedy - Bee Gees
19. What a Fool Believes - The Doobie Brothers (I got two words for you: Michael McDonald).
25. Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground) - The Jacksons (The Jacksons at their very best).
28. My Life - Billy Joel (I LOVE this song! I'm still mad that on my Bosom Buddies DVD set that took this song out and replaced it with Stephanie Mills' "Shake Me Loose).

I Will Survive is overplayed, but a great song nonetheless. Had to take out Hot Stuff. One of Donna's worst songs IMO.

I'm still waiting for that 1982 list, the year that I was born!

I could have chosen 20 of those songs, I was 3 that year but had a couple of Disco obsessed teenage aunties and my mother was only 25 so there was a LOT of music in the house that year. My favourites of these are 5,13,19 especially 19 that is like one of the greatest songs ever made.
Barbra really dominated that year, along with 1980 where she had the ultra fabulous "Woman in Love"

Realised I am the only one who liked Babs and Neil Diamond, well when I was born in 1976 the number one hit was Let Your love flow by the Bellamy Brothers (How tacky was that) I believe it was followed by Afternoon delight (No comment). Yet If I had been born 2 weeks earlier (I was 2.5 weeks late), Love Machine by the Miracles was #1
