I know her whole catalog was brought to us by producers and songwriters, but somehow "Kiss My Swag" sounds like an identity crisis?

It sounds so generic, or written for a completely different artist, which was my beef with Discipline.

Its like she's fighting to remain relevant! Like no good producers want to deal with her. I mean, maybe she is dealing with amazing producers but the songs are garbage and no one cares! sigh

Rodney Jerkins?

Ya know, as soon as I read his name on the back of Brandy's latest album, I chilled and put that shit back on the rack.

Is it all him though? It was more of an a&r/exec credit

I don't know. It's definitely one of my top albums of 2008, though.

Did you get Brandy's one from 2008 though? I decided I probably just wanted to revisit Afrodesiac.

Afrodisiac was her finest recording I think.

Wasn't talking about Full Moon... lol

I love how discussion in a Ciara thread suddenly turned to Brandy - shows how much people give a shit about Cici these days!

A remake of some one else's song.

I know what cover means for god sake! I'm asking which song ciara covered? Is never ever a cover?

Yes. They tried 2 change a few parts of it but basically it is a cover.

Pretty much. Of course they added their own wack ass lyrics but it is pretty obvious where the idea the of the track originated. Cover may be the wrong term 4 this kind of theft.....

I'm sayin'... I hope alphastreet knows the source. I'd call it a cover.

Why couldn't she get the same the folks she worked on the last album to do this one? I thought she'd come better than this.

Supposedly her and Jazze Pha had a falling out. The Neptunes and Rodney were probably too busy for her sad

The first song really sounds too much like Janet´s Feedback.
And is the other song s remake of Simply Red´s If You Don´t Know Me By Now?
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Was it? Who sang it originally then?

No, I haven´t. See, the Czech radio stations do not play such music. Czech people in general prefer rock or they play some stupid Czech music. You just won´t hear soul on the radio so where else could I hear it?

Cinnie, thanks for posting the original. It´s really nice.
