Boz Skaggs-Vocals
Jeff Porcaro-Drums
David Hungate-Bass
Louie Shelton-Guitar
Daivd Paich-Keyboards

This song marked the beginning of "Toto" like Linda Ronstadt's "Blue Bayou" marked the begining of the "Eagles"....

nod Break it down diamondpearl1... break-it-down. lol Ya didn't give the flute player props, Lawrence Feldman. Of course "Lowdown" was the title song in the movie "Looking for Mr. Goodbar". Starring: Diane Keaton and Richard Gere.

lol Sorry about missing the flute player. Sometimes bein such a guitar and drum fanatic, you can miss the wind and string section. Like I didn't know the name of the flute player on Marshall Tucker Band's "Heard It In A Love Song" and that's my favorite part of the tune. Or not knowing the name of guy who played the harp on the live version of Skynyrd's "Tuesday's Gone" when it's brought many tears to my eyes. smile I like Richard Gere as an actor but I'm not up on the movie you mentioned. how was it?....

"Looking for Mr. Goodbar" was a real good movie, haven't seen it on cable in ages though. Actually that was Gere's big break, small supporting role but a pivotal role in the movie. I think it was nominated for best pic and Keaton was nominated.

"Looking for Mr. Goodbar" was based a book (by Judith Perelman Rossner) which was based on a true story about a NY schoolteacher who spent her nights and weekends cruising bars picking up crazy azz men: She was brutally murdered by one of her one night stands. The selection of "Lowdown" as the music for that movie, was spot on.

I have this movie on VHS.It's a good film that gives you a real sense of how things were back in the carefree 70s,when one-night stands were a way of life for many people. The ending is shocking! One of the best things about this movie is the soundtrack, which includes some of the best songs from 1976: "Lowdown","Love Hangover","Don't Leave Me This Way","Prelude To Love/Could It Be Magic" by Donna Summer. These are the songs that were popular in singles bars and discos back then.

The producers of 'Saturday Night Fever' also wanted to use "Lowdown" in their film but for some reason, they couldn't get permission confuse

Love the Boz! He used to play in a high school band in Dallas with Steve Miller.

One time, a long time ago, Boz was asked to leave a Galveston nightclub. He replied, and I quote, "You can't throw me out! I'm the Boz!"

Love the Boz!

I love his hits, but I tend not to be a greatest hits type. Which studio album should I go for?

In 2001,Boz released one of his best albums,'Dig'.I really think this is his best album since 'Silk Degrees'.A brilliant album of cool, classy grooves and nice ballads. My favorite song is the jazzy,Quiet Storm track "Miss Riddle"...

I think this was his last album of 'original' songs. His last few CDs have been covers albums.I'd like to see him return to writing his own songs again.
