Ever heard of"Being in love ain't easy" by sweet obsession. lol
The barkays borrowed some synth arrangements but if you really listen
they added their own flavor to it.
IMO sweet obsession's song is a blatant rip off of the beautiful ones.

I love the Bar-Kays, but they've ripped off every genre and followed trends in R&B for the last 40 years.

Bar Kays were around long before Prince, my answer

1. The Deele (Tried to look like him too)
2. Ready for the world
3. Chico Debarge (Have 1998 single that sounds like Do Me Baby)
4. Princezz (NZ Maori drag queen that dresses up like Prince
5. Alex Curvello
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

Several of the BarKays songs are similiar to other songs...

"Freakshow On The Dancefloor" sounds like a slightly faster version of Midnight Star's "No Parking On The Dancefloor".

"Dirty Dancer" borrows its synth riff from Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean".

"Freaky Behavior" sounds like a "cousin" of Rick James' "Super Freak".

They have another song (can't remember the title, but it's from the 70s) that resembles EW&F's "Shining Star".

I don't see them as ripping off other artists, though. They just sorta "borrow" ideas and mix it into their own sound (like many other artists do).
