Keith Sweat before, Tina Turner? What gives? "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

The Keith Sweat album is better. I prefer Guy, but Make It Last Forever is probably my second-favorite New Jack Swing album. Most of the choices are pretty good. I would certainly have included Gap Band III, for starters. Rhythm Nation out of the top 20 is pretty rough. [Edited 4/7/09 5:47am] "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

shit, I just do NOT own two of those albums... scary I guess I was a bit of a freak back in those days
so then I have to say "nice list" overall of course one can always argue about certain omissions, positions and this and that.. one that springs to my mind rigth away is Bobby Womack "The Poet II", which would be in my Top 5 at least.. have to think about others, I'm sure there're more . [Edited 4/7/09 6:05am] Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

Interesting: I have 55 out of the 75 listed. My top 20 list would be void of Keith Sweat, Janet Jackson, Tina Turner. I've never liked Mr. Sweat's' voice, I don't think Ms. Jackson can sing, and Ms. Turner, a little goes a looooong way. (shrug)

Control should be higher in that list

"Make It Last Forever," "Something Just Ain't Right," "How Deep Is Your Love," the cover of "In the Rain"... I might have to spin that one right now! The poll is subjective according to soultracks opinion but how in the
hell the one EWF album that's on the list is the Faces album. WTF? Are you kidding me? Some on the list i agree with and others i don't. Don't laugh at my funk

My rankings would be totally different. Especially since they ranked "Back on the Block" higher than "The Dude". Give me a break. Also, how did Faces from EWF make the list and Raise didn't? **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Great to see Thriller at #1, despite what people think about Michael and everything, it is a trult brilliant set, you can not fault. Our man Prince gets #3 and #5 which is great, shame sign didn't make it (Maybe its too white for them). Good to see the Time got #35, thats a good set, the Walk, Wild and Loose etc.
Also love #5, 6, 11, 14,16,18(Rick James!!!!), 20, 23, 25, 42, 45, 48 (Really deserved to get higher a brilliant album) 57, 59, 65, 66. (Some blue eyed soul acts there which is great) So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

There are a lot of albums on that list that were greater than "Thriller" but doesn't surprise me it landed at #1. Guess since it's the biggest selling album, it will always land atop any 80's Pop/Rock/Soul list.
Very interesting the Grammy winning "Chaka Khan" made the Top 30 but Warner Brothers refuses to reissue over here in the states. [Edited 4/7/09 14:46pm] "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

Yeah, Thriller is amongst most top lists. Mostly because of its appeal and influence on society. Anyway, how can u have a greatest of the 80s/90s and not mention Dangerous? It is a better album than Bad. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

The Jones Girls - At Peace With Woman, The Whispers - The Whispers, SOS Band- On The Rise, are just a few that I can see. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I wholeheartedly agree. I didn't even know they were doing a poll on '80s albums already. I voted on the '70s one and Earth, Wind & Fire won with their "That's the Way of the World" album.

Same reason Dangerous is not on there. I mean, come on, I LOVE Peabo Bryson's I Am Love. It is his best album, but it doesn't compare to Dangerous or Triumph. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-
