if Celebrities do these type of last minute impromptu gatherings without proper security measures some one can get hurt or in trouble.

I would hate to see Prince announce via twitter to go somewhere for chaos to ensue. eek

I'm gonna sound real old. But I just don't get the point of Twitter. As far as I can tell it seems like it's for people who have nothing better to do than ask 'what are you doing', etc. Sure it may be good for up and coming artists like this Amanda Palmer person to annouce impromtu appearances but seriously most of Pinces' fans are 35 or older. Sorry but most of us in this age group are not going to drop everything at the drop of a hat to run to some park/record store/parking lot because Prince says he's there twiddling his thumbs and bored. lol

I'm so with you on this. smile
Something funny regarding "Twittering" I ran across a few weeks ago.

From the Ken Levine blogsite...

I use Twitter to alert my followers of new blog posts and occasionally a tidbit or two extra about one of the posts. But I can see I’m not using this social network for its intended purpose, to bore the crap out of my readers by sharing the minutiae of my daily life. So now I’m in the spirit as you will plainly see. Here’s a preview of my Tweets for tomorrow. If you don't follow me already you will be by the time you finish this.

Woke up. Had to pee.

Peed for 41 seconds.

Can’t find my toothbrush. Is it in the medicine cabinet?

No.

Will brush teeth tomorrow.

????? Special K or Raisin Bran?????

Wow. Thanks to the 437 of you who voted. Raisin Bran it is!!!

Raisin Bran raisins are dry. Has anyone else noticed this?

375 do. Sweet!!!

What happens if the Microwave won’t turn off?

Welcome new followers: BF, Ice9, BigBadWolfestein, Ten2Life, GetWellJack, and Ann Coulter.

Drawing a bath.

Microwave answer: it explodes.

Writing blog post on lack of German comedy writers while waiting for fire department.

We need a Dunky D in LA!

Okay, the fire’s out but they didn’t have to use the axe.

Mail just arrived. AT&T bill for $125.90, Warner-Cable bill for $94.02, Cialis from Canada, foreclosure notice, EMMY magazine, charity, charity, charity, charity, jury duty final notice, charity, SELF magazine, rejection form letter from the New Yorker, Victoria Secrets catalog, NRA newsletter, Malinov-Silverman mortuary flyer, SHORTBUS DVD -- Netflix, Betty Ford Center patient application, shuffleboard tournament invite, charity, and a post card from my cousin Ira who’s in

Don’t you hate it when you have too many words and they just cut you off?

Saskatoon.

Making a tuna sandwich for lunch. I like it with relish. Do you?

Kitchen is still kind of smoky. Can’t see. Maybe I better go out.

Had to pee first. 29 seconds.

Ann Coulter just wrote that we should invade hostile countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war. And yes, gotta have relish.

ESPN sportscenter is on at Jerry’s Deli. I’m watching.

They had a story on A-Rod. Now they have one on the Celtics. I don’t know what though. The sound is down. Does anybody know what that story is?

Jerry’s Deli is expensive.

OMG! Forget to turn the bath water off. House is now flooded.

Changed my Facebook picture. Taken at Star Trek convention. I’m the Klingon on the right.

Does anyone who lives near me have a bucket?

House appears to be destroyed. Mood: sad.

Missing BREAKING BAD marathon on AMC tonight. Mood: REALLY sad.

Found toothbrush. It just floated by.

Can I stay with anyone tonight?

Nobody?????!!!!!

Seriously.

I’m not kidding here.

437 of you voted on my fucking cereal choice but no one can spare a goddamn couch?!!!

I can’t believe this!!!!

Who gives a shit what the fucking Celtics story was? Jesus Christ! I’m homeless!!!

Okay.

Fine.

I piss on you all. 58 seconds.

I get the fact that new artists must use every self-marketing tool at their disposal these days.
However, as a productive adult, I personally have no time for anything like the above. lol

Also, I believe Prince created a mystique (or more specifically allowed you to create a unique one in your own head) by not giving you a second-by-second blow-by-blow of his non-musical life.

Note to self: Be sure to include some "social-networking" guru type younguns in any future marketing plans.

His behavior reeks of those who are obsessed to a point where he should be determined as dangerous imo.

It does not matter if anyone "likes" or "dislikes" Bart.

If this was any other type of board the warning would have been made some time ago and his name would have been put on alert.

Yet another fam who is obsessed with me. But *I* am the nutcase.

Oh, and FYI: I know of a fan who has been banned at just about any Prince forum. He was invited to Prince's house recently.

Actually, Bart makes some good points....Damn strong points....

But for all of the heads wagging their fingers at folks who take exception to Bart's comments, I think you guys need to be honest here...

For the most part, the criticism that people are projecting at Bart has more to do with his almost obsessive need to shit on the Org's hero on a daily basis...LOL

It works both ways guys...For me, it's hard to take the Kool-Aid drinking FAMS who think that Prince walks on water and has never released a lackluster album seriously...But at the other end of the spectrum are those folks whose sole purpose on this site is to nit-pick at ANY little thing the Purple Midget does (see Bart)...

So yeah, I can understand folks screaming down at Bart, as unfair as it is...It's a shame, because this was an excellent post...Unfortunately, Bart is the Org's version of the boy who cried wolf....When he actually raises a good point, it's hard to take the man as sincere...

Who said someone didnt make good points ever?

I mean with Prince it aint that difficult to make a finer point regarding better business practice. It isnt rocket science and nobody save a few think that Prince is perfect. It isnt about that, its about decades old negative obessession where there has been not one iota of objectivity. That's weird. You know this Murph.

An example was where the dangerous one blatanbly cast off the music in one sentence, showing the one stream thinking lol.

Anyone can come and say "this is whats wrong". But doing it for 10 years is odd . Even Max came to admit that Mr Purple had some finer points lol.

Yes. I tend to agree with almost everything Bart has to say. The difference? I got over it back in 1997 when we started going through all of this this first time and then realized that I was still going to be there lapping up every release, every tour, every scrap of news or lyrical analysis, etc.

It's his tone that makes people react in such a way. Most of us have made peace with the fact that we both LOVE Prince and hate his guts at the same time.

Bart is still struggling with that dichotomy.

No shit...lol..

And it's more than the tone that turns people off...He simply is a one-trick pony who has become more of a character for the Org folks to hate more than anything else...That's just as bad as some folks who lap up everything Prince does or releases...

Says Ken. And while I imagine that can be true for people such as Ken, i'm thinking that there's some part of Prince that wants to do dumb things like this - f'rexample that recent "Where's fluffy?" nonsense. Maybe it's the people around it, maybe not. And I don't think People aren't lamenting the fact that Prince isn't Twittering everytime he has a bowel movement...I think they're lamenting the fact that he does absolutely nothing to utilize the technology available to bring fans closer and be more involved in his experience. Oh, and there are obviously quite a few people who would drop everything at a moments notice (or twitter or whatever it's called) to catch Prince wherever he might be. So it's not that unheard of. Hell, i've seen people offer up their firstborn or vital body parts after a concert to find out where the aftershow is going to be.

Frankly, IMO everything Trent does includes all of his fanbase - regardless of financial status. And that app that will allow fans to connect to each other (especially if they're at a concert) just kicks much ass.

It's a shame the same can't be said of Prince - since, according to some People here, he's such a pioneering innovator.
• Did you first think Prince was gay? •

Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.
