Check It Out is one my favorite Tavares' cuts!  It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Tavares is one of my favorite soul groups of the 70s.I can't believe how underrated they are.They never got the same level of recognition that other 70s groups received (O'Jays,Stylistics,etc).I have all of their albums."Check It Out" is great.Another underrated song from that period is "Hard Core Poetry".Love the song,love the message! | |

I used to play the 45 record all the time, now I play the greatest hits cd. Tavares is a great soul group. "Whodunit" is a funny song with all the detective pop referenes. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
