No, but I've left my ipod out in freezing conditions, so that ice formed on the ipod. Really, really bad idea.

I did leave it at school, though.
No one returned it, obviously

Damn! Mine accidentally fell into the toilet once. After I let it dry, the screen was fucked up but it worked for about three months then it died. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

In case some here can afford it ... buy a second one as back-up.
Or otherwise, copy-paste your whole iPod-library to an external hard-disc. It's worth all the uploadwork you've put in it.

It's worth all the uploadwork you've put in it. +1 Good advice, it came in handy last year when my internal HD crashed. I left my iPod in below freezing conditions inside my briefcase in my car. I brought the briefcase in and kept the iPod in the case and allowed it to warm up at room temp...I haven't had any problems/issues with it.

Yeah, i bought last year an external disc of 1 terra-byte, so i can keep my laptop as empty as possible. So much space on that e-disc.

That's good until the external hard disk decides to stop working. That happened to me over a year ago. Luckily I backed (almost) everything up though. Whatever I lost, I lost. It didn't even bother me.

I keep my media on an external drive as well so don't worry if something should happen to my touch. So far I've owned 3 over the years: iPod U2 edition nano iPod Touch And all still work just fine. Hate to say it but I feel lost without my Touch. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Accidentally washed & then DRIED (in a tumble dryer), which resulted in a very oddly shaped ipod. Quite artistic looking in fact.

No. Just copy your stuff to your main hard drive or CDRs. That way, if your external HD craps out, you still have copies of your info. [Edited 4/1/09 17:00pm]

Here's How
Go to File, Library, Export Library (you can put this anywhere, desktop, etc) This only saves the data, not the music files. once you save it, burn it a disc or copy to an external drive. I use the date to keep track of them. if you update or change your playlist and library, I would get in the habit of doing this once a month and delete your prior save. You can also use this to move your info around to other computers. Just copy to the desktop and import it right into your itunes library, after you have uploaded your music files. Sort of reverve the export procedure. It will look excatly the same. hope this helps. [Edited 4/1/09 15:46pm]
