Chris Brown wrote Rihanna's song Disturbia...

Kinda eerie looking at these lyrics now. I always wondered where his inspiration came from...maybe now we know?

What's wrong with me?
Why do I feel like this?
I'm going crazy now

No more gas, in the rear, can't even get it started
Nothing heard, nothing said, can't even speak about it
Out my life, out my head, don't wanna think about it
Feels like I'm going insane, yeah

It's a thief in the night to come and grab you
It can creep up inside you and consume you
A disease of the mind, it can control you
It's too close for comfort oh

Put on your break lights, we're in the city of wonder
Ain't gon' play nice, watch out you might just go under
Better think twice, your train of thought will be altered
So if you must falter be wise

Your mind's in disturbia, it's like the darkness is light
Disturbia, am I scaring you tonight?
Disturbia, ain't used to what you like
Disturbia, disturbia

Faded pictures on the wall, it's like they talking to me
Disconnected phone calls, the phone don't even ring
I gotta get out or figure this shit out
It's too close for comfort, oh

It's a thief in the night to come and grab you
It can creep up inside you and consume you
A disease of the mind it can control you
I feel like a monster, oh

Put on your brake lights, we're in the city of wonder
Ain't gonna play nice, watch out you might just go under
Better think twice, your train of thought will be altered
So if you must falter be wise

Your mind's in disturbia, it's like the darkness is light
Disturbia, am I scaring you tonight?
Disturbia, ain't used to what you like
Disturbia, disturbia

Release me from this curse I'm in
Trying to maintain but I'm struggling
If you can, go
I think I'm gonna ah, ah, ahhhh

Put on your brake lights, we're in the city of wonder
Ain't gon' play nice, watch out you might just go under
Better think twice, your train of thought will be altered
So if you must falter be wise

Disturbia, it's like the darkness is light
Disturbia, am I scaring you tonight?
Disturbia, ain't used to what you like
Disturbia, disturbia

Arnotts

When I first heard he wrote it, which was before the controversy, I always envisioned it to be inspired by the beginning of the thriller filmclip, considering his love for Michael and that song. But now that you mention it, it definitely sounds more personal.

I always thought there was a thriller connection/inspiration to it, but didn't know chris wrote it

It was written by Chris for his last CD. However, after writing it, he thought that it would sound better coming from a woman. Rihanna needed a song for the re-release of "Good Girl Gone Bad" and he gave her that song.

Chris is listed as a cowriter. Perhaps he's responsible for the lyrics.

I remember her saying she wanted the song to go on her next CD, but the record company insisted it go on the re-release.

Also, I thought the opening line was "No more gas in the rig..." not "rear". Kinda sounds weird, "no more gas in the rear" lol

I don't want to pull up the other Chris/Rihanna topic, or create yet another one, so I thought I'd post this here.

Some new artwork. Thumbs up or down?:

err

I know.

What I'm saying is, where do these lyrics come from?

They're incredibly dark.

Ok, I'll try to stay on topic then...lol

I hear he wrote a song for Jordin Sparks next CD and in an interview she's like "Well, I'm not so sure I'll be working with him.....we'll have to see." This reminded me of when she went and blabbed that she had a crush on him last year sometime. He basically replied that he was aware of her crush but didn't feel any chemistry with her on the video shoot for "No Air". He wasn't feeling her. LOL That was cold, but I bet she feels like she dodged a bullet (not to rub it in or anything).

Seems like he can rely on writing songs during the lean times.

Btw, this song just was just certified Triple Platinum by RIAA
