Which means, you don't have the album ?... or didn't hear it before ? lol

"Da Lady" has great string-arrangements !

Album starts with the wild intro "Fire When Ready" and the albumtitle is another tight jam.

"Chase Me !"

Cool, is that one from the Mercury Series which came out in 2 volumes ? Those are great remastered compilations. As for CFS's catalogue, it's absolutely worth to chase for.
They co-worked with Skip Scarbrough on albums like "Loveshine" and "Spirit Of Love". Skip worked also much with EW&F so that touch of flava can be somewhat heard back in a few CFS-tracks.

Take "Loveshine" for example :

The Candy-vinyl has been released with a gatefold-cover, and also a special picture-disc was pressed back then :

I also recently bumped into a few rare SoulTrain-appearances, and everytime i see their late drummer Louis McCall drum so enthusiastically
in the "You Are The One"-performance, it makes me sad ... Louis was robbed from his life at his house by a burglar rose dove

CFS are still busy organising succesful concert-cruises every year. Various footage of that has been posted on Youtube.

Yeah this is the first volume of the funk essential series.
Don't be sad dude this is a good set but for hard core confunkshun
fans like myself you need most of the individual albums for little
known gems like not ready, da lady, and body lovers. Volume 2 of this
series is pretty decent but i never went out and bought it because
i have most of the albums.

'Spirit Of Love' from 1980 is a good place to start

Contains two of their finest singles: the infectious funk jam "Got To Be Enough" and the smooth slow jam "By Your Side".I've seen it on CD for very cheap, too.Start here and work your way to the other albums.

Spirit of Love like soul stated along with Candy, 7, and To the Max
are probably the band's finest efforts.

Yeah, that's the Mercury-series i meant, lol. Rhino is part of Atlantic but i thought they were co-working with Polygram and its sublabels (Mercury, etc)
Enjoy your ConFunkSearch and as the band always sings : "Have ffun !"
