Another Sly & Robbie classic. Marcus Miller re-did it as a "wink" in Boomerang, when Grace Jones (Stran'ge) storms outside into her limo

My favorite Grace Jones song headbang In the summer of 81,this was a JAM!! Back then,I thought the lyrics were about cruising around town.Little did I know that Grace had something else in mind...lol...

Here's how I was first made aware of this song back in 1997:

That was the jam and it's the only song I recall of Ms. Jones, anyone knows of any others? Thanks

There was "Slave To The Rhythm"

I'm in a Grace Jones mood lately. Just bought her incredible 3 CD set of mostly hits and remixes/dubs of some songs from the Sly and Robbie period (taken from the acclaimed "Compass Point Sessions" discs. Some other songs from Grace you might know include...

Famously sampled over and over again but this song stands out among her hits.

These are covers but Grace makes them her own.

Grace at her most pop!

BTW, "Pull Up To The Bumper" had a video (a rather good one). It's basically taken from Grace's "One Man Show" show but with really incredible shots of New York City (I believe) taken from some movie. It really works. I love Grace's little James Brown dance in the begining. Awesome!

the song is filled with sexy come-ons and double entendres lol Hearing it as a teenager in 1981,I assumed it was just a fun song about cruising the streets. All these years later,I found out what the song really means....

that shiny,sleek machine you wheel
I've got to blow your horn

grease it...spray it...let me...lubricate it

eek lol

LOL!! Freaky, indeed. The "drive it in between" lyric made me think she was referring to sex, but I didn't look too deeply into it. lol

Are you serious? I was referring to the Funkadelic song "Icka Prick."

George Clinton says, "This is graffilthy!!!"

And I thought the same about the lyrics you quoted in "Pull up to the bumper," which is why I quoted that particular song.
