Just a sign of the times, its got nothing to do with the fact of Economy, or that its a shitty rag filled with writers that are nothing more than wanna be writers that couldnt get into school. But the day of the magazine and newspaper are just about done. you will see about 10-20 others go very soon, and strictly do online issues "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Though I will admit, I was highly appreciative of RS first Backstreet Boys' pants down picture. But that's because you're a Backstreet Boy fan so you have no excuse. I really don't. But even as much I am deeply in debt both to RS magazine and to the Boys for that photo shoot, it's gotta be said that a music magazine that fancies itself a serious publication should NOT be featuring cover shots of boybands with their pants around their ankles. I liked Blender, but something else will take its place.
I had a subscription to Giant Magazine, and it really changed format halfway through. In the beginning, they had people like Ethan Hawke and Jack Black on the cover - they'd feature gadgets, clothing, music, movies, and such. It seemed to become a black magazine overnight: the ads all changed, the music reviews were mostly rap/r&b, and they focused more on the sorta "DUB" lifestyle. Doesn't matter much, I usually only buy magazines when I'm traveling. They are too expensive! A few weeks ago I bought the new U2 CD for $9.99 . . . the next week they're on a magazine cover that is $4.99.

I've been reading since 2004 and I've never once thought of it as a serious mag. In fact, it seemed more of a mag that allowed celebs to goof off and be themselves in interviews and shoots.

My impression was that Blender never took themselves too seriously which I liked. It began as a spinoff of Maxim after all.
