First of all there are some great ballads on the album.

2nd of all, she did a Jazz song (which i waited SO SO long 4 her 2 do i wish she did the whole album like "Subtle Invitation")

3rd, y did she have 2 redo the same old beat of "Oh Boy" & "Dre Day"?

4th, WHY WHY WHY RAPPERS???

Otherwise i give the album a nice 7 outof 10

I think the album is very good, but I do have to agree upon your comment about the rappers. Why, Why? I think Mariah could do without them, and benefit from it!

All in all I would also give it 7 out of 10.

I love 'My Saving Grace', it made my day better.

It is a really good CD, the rappers once again keep it from being a GREAT CD. I wish Mariah would use LIVE instruments throughtout a CD on every track. Her songs sound so much better when all is live and not Over Produced. Alot of the songs on the Glitter soundtrack were live bands and sounded fresh, yes thats right I thought Glitter was a good cd overall too.

Charmbracelet is a return 2 form 4 Mariah. After her brief flirt with the 80's sounds on Glitter (which was a nice cd) Mariah's back 2 what she does best. Some beautiful ballads grace this cd. I truly love the song "boy", i have it on repeat ever since friday. The Led zeppelin cover also is very cool All in all this is a very consistent cd,just wished there were a few more uptempo songs on it...

The ballads on "Glitter" were some of the best i EVER heard of her. Alot of peeps dont agree, but Jimmy & Terry can BUST IT! They really did their work, and the soundtrack was wonderful (except for all the featurings, but not Eric Benet, that song was a classic 2 me).

Glitter was very underrated. The movie i will not talk about, but even she didnt like it.

this is the 1st Mariah cd i wont buy,i have bought all up til now.
just not interested.Glitter was ok but i listened 2 it twice & Loverboy was hott,thats about it.

What I love about this LP is you can hear the REAL GROWN sound/music and coming from Mariah who's always used to sang about the beautiful pinky world with its rainbows/butterflies is something amazing. 1-TTR-We heard that(I know, In know, I know LOL not good as a lead single but who cares??)

2-Boy(I need you)-Funky hip/hop beat but I can't really tell if the sample was taken from Cam'ron or 70's funk group Rose Royce "I'm going down" lata covered by Mary J. According to the sample credit it says that it was sampled from I'm going down.

3-The One-Oh my lawd, the guitar solo is MAD as hell and the harmony arrangments are tight. Very Breakdown-ish

4-Yours-First of best slow jams, an RnB groovy #. Ya'll gonna like this motha. You can check it in AOL and according to them it will be the 2nd video/single.

5-You Got Me-With Jigga and you can check a preview in the fron page of her website. Cool upbeat.

6-I Only Wanted=My All+After 2nite kinda ballad.

7- Clown -What I love about this song is this is the 1st time you hear an ANGRY MARIAH LOL Very funny. Nice beat, nice lyrics. She ends the song really funny. Wait and see.

8-My Saving Grace-Too gospel ballad, this is the kinda sh!t that will take you back 2 the Merry Xmas/Daydream days. Something 4 the elder fans I guess. Ya'll gonna like this.

9-You Had Your Chance-JD song. You can hear an early 90's New Jack Swing sound like it. MC' fans say its a diss 4 Tommy M.

10-Lullaby-This is the daughter of Babydoll/4th O' jully LOL what I love about this song and Clown is they were simply produced by the amazing Andre Harris and Vidal. Mellow sexy track that set my mood so easily.

11-Irresistable: Irresistable nice summanight's jam but too bad it ain't summa no mo. Reminds me a bit of Kool & The Gang "Summer Madness"

12-Subtle Invitation-How I love Mariah 4 doing this track. The live thing really worked on this one. Imagine 70's live in-house jazz groove with some Neo-Soul rhodes twist. Man, this track stood out.

13-Bringin on the heartbreak-I heard the original one but this one really took my breath away, mariah redid it in a most fabulous way, she breathed the whole mariah thing into this track and when she sang her "yeahs yeah" with her ultra sonic notes, u could almost think she's replacing the electric guitar!! def one of the highlight of the LP.

14-Sunflowers- This song is really touchy. U could feel every hurt she felt in this track. Very good tribute 4 her father.

15-TRR(remix with Kelly Price & Joe)-Man, if she only made a video 4 this song, that would be off the hizzy not 2 mention it will make the black crowd fall in love with her again. Its nice 2 hear Kelly Price, I love this sista and I have thick layer of respect 4 her. Joe is cool peeps too.

The lowdown of this LP:

I don't see Mike City

Maybe she's gonna include their tracks in the b-sides. Overall, this album is the best since Butterly. Mariah has got her 'swagger' back for real though. What is really good about the album: SHE HITS THE HIGGEST NOTES and the best thing is she's stepping into more musical approach(Intrumental solos).

BTW Bass player Randy Jackson co-produced most of the LP thats why I think ya'll gonna like it.

Is it me, or does anyone else think that some of the songs have the stylistic phrasing of Kelly Price?

Sounds like a Kelly Price album through alot of it.. did they share producers?

I saw a special on Mariah that was shown on MTV the other day.She performed many of her new songs live,including "Yours","Boy (I Need You)","The One"(which I really liked) and a few others.The new songs are pretty good,they're not unique or anything different from past efforts,but still good nonetheless.And Mariah looks great these days.She just might make a comeback with this CD.

Okay,I got the album and here's my review.

It is a really good album for Mariah Carey.My favorites
are I Only Wanted,The One,Yours,
Through The Rain,Bringin' On The Heart Break,
You Had Your Chance,and My Saving Grace.

All the songs on the album are all worthy to listen to.The
rappers are okay but I do agree I'd like to see her do an
album without them for once.Still,Charmbracelet is for any true Mariah Carey fan.No one can sing like her.

I'd like to see Mariah sing her high pitched scream in
front of J Lo's face and put her to shame."Now that's
singing bitch!"

Though I love me some Mariah...I gotta say I have had enough of the whispery ballads!

CHARMBRACLET is somewhat a return to form but it's not like GLITTER was that bad...I actually enjoyed it!!!

Too many ballads on CB...but the best one has to be "My Saving Grace"...for the most part CB dissapointed me...it's pretty dull apart from a couple of songs..but still...I hope the next Mariah album blows me away...I still have much faith in her!
