Remember 45''s, 8 track, Cassettes, LPS?

Wasn't it fun going to the record store and picking up the top songs of the week and playing them on the Turntable? I would go To Crazy Eddies and Sam Goody's or this store Alexanders and it was really Fun....

When I was a kid, but with Itunes and Ipods, who needs them now, besides my records always got broken, warped by the sun (It was my Mums great idea to put the hi fi in the conservatory) or damaged by my idiot brother. One time I found my copy of Balme it on the rain by Milli Vanilli being used as a coaster, I will how ever by early Prince vinyl if I see it. Wether its vinyl, tape, disc I will buy it.
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

I loved my vinyls. I enjoyed music much more then (we all do when we're younger) but by the end of the 80s I suddenly coundn't stand clicks and pops and stuff. I'm not sure now but then I would have sworn my LPs had never had so many clicks before. Could the industry be introducing bad quality vinyl to make people change to CD? hmmm (around 1986-1989)

WEll remember how some albums were scrunched together so packed just to fit 6 7 songs on one side? Those dont always sound better than cd.

true that
that´s why i´m still buying 12" singles - perfect sound quality or double albums.. but 4- 5 songs on one side album sounds good

Yes, it is cool and NOT OLD! Last night Carson Daily was at AMOEBA RECORDS in HOLLYWOOD and there still are some VINYL stores out there and ENGLAND still presses VINYL so it DEFINITELY ISN'T an OLD thing at all. I miss TOWER RECORDS actually or SAM GOODY's and ya know there was this ZIG-ZAG and KING KAROL store that would sell as well as BONDY'S and J and R. I would get ALOT of NEW WAVE stuff from these stores and even SOUNDS in NYC and NY still has vinyl stores. It's just at Malls that they no longer stock Vinyl. Maybe Hot Topic has some, but FYE doesn't have Vinyl.

Remember 45s? lol
I live and breath 45s. At home, I don't even have a CD player. I only listen to my vinyl albums, and I collect rare Funk and soul 45s. As a DJ, I still work exclusively with vinyl. Never liked CDs, and I will never switch to Serrado.

In the past five years, when I did most of my traveling as a DJ, I have only used 45s because:

1. They're small and handy
2. They are quite robust
3. Most of the tracks on 45s were never released on albums
4. They sound better than anything, CDs included.

I love my 45 case and wouldn't trade it for anything.

You better get yourself some outer sleeves, made of hardboard paper. 45s are like a chick's nipples, only bigger (well, sometimes not), more sensitive and much more fun to play around with.

And then you should get a solid shelf. I got one of my 45s once my living room floor looked like this -

Bottom line, take care of your shit. It will thank you later.

Very few of my albums or 12 Inches have pops in them. I always kept them in their covers and I kept them in the inside sleeves also. Several of my 45s have pops in them because I didn't keep their sleeves and kept them in several of those steel 45 holders for years.
