The Supremes "Love Child" I really think this is one of their best and definitely among my top 5 Supreme's songs. I love Diana's voice in this. I've always been suprised that they agreed to sing about such a controversial subject matter considering the image they had and during the time period it was recorded too. Regardless though, it's a great song.

"Love Child" is my very favorite song from The Supremes. As far as controversy over the songs subject matter there was some but since 68 was such a volatile year... it didn't stick . I'm surprised hand-wring Barry Gordy allowed them to recorded though. | |

Berry Gordy had a big stake in this record because Holland Dozier Holland left the company.
So Berry and a group of writers went "on holiday" and wrote this song and they were relived because it went to number 1. H/D/H were responsible for The Supremes last few hits so this meant Motown could survive without them. It's a great song. You can hear where MJ got his Ooh ooh ooh's on 'Say Say Say'.
