Artists with 50 or more songs on my I-Pod

Top IPod Artists
9512 tracks, 48.83 GB

1. Prince – 1506 tracks. There are three concerts that I don’t have on ITunes, just selected tracks, 14 versions of Kiss, 8 of Adore, etc . . Shows that I attended, I’ve kept intact. I did none of the recording of those shows btw.
2. Ice Cube – 184 tracks. Who else could follow P for my affection? Lol only slightly surprised that he’s at two.
3. U2- 177 tracks. Official releases and one concert. But the hits sets and Rattle and Hum don’t duplicate songs I already have. I kept only one version, usually the album track.
4. Madonna – 129 tracks, including some bootleg stuff but definitely not the discography. (She’s just not THAT good.)
5. Michael Jackson – 125 tracks, including some boots but it covers his career pretty well.
6. Terence Trent D’Arby – 111 tracks. I think he’s uneven. But he’s uneven because he’s trying and sometimes you wonder what he’s thinking. But like Prince, it’s probably worth experiencing the ride.
7. Marvin Gaye – 107 tracks. I can’t stand it when he tries to be Sinatra, but when he’s himself he puts his talent to full effect.
8. Sting – 97 tracks (solo). One of my favorite songwriters. I don’t listen to The Police that much but his solo career has been incredibly brilliant.
9. George Michael – 89 tracks. One concert and solo work. Never liked Wham! but like Sting, going solo let him soar.
10. Kanye West – 76 tracks. No boots, just his first four albums w/ collaborative material. Others may not think so, but he is getting better.
11. Stevie Wonder – 75 tracks. Obviously more highlights than albums.
12. Tracy Chapman – 75 tracks. A very talented songwriter, and one of my favorites whose career should be bigger.
13. Seal – 72 tracks. Included one concert performance. His biggest misstep was in ‘Soul’ collection. Ha may just be out of material.
14. Donna Summer- 72 tracks. Beautiful voice that should be in the HOF.
15. Me’Shell Ndegeocello -67 tracks. Always interesting and ‘Bitter’ is a masterpiece.
16. Craig David – 63 tracks. A once promising talent who really bored me the last time out.
17. Tori Amos – 62 tracks. We’ll see how much this collection grows. The songs I love, I love. There’s plenty I’m just indifferent to.
18. Depeche Mode – 60 tracks. There definitely should be more. The only other band from the ‘80’s that I still buy. (see #3).
19. Elton John – 59 tracks. I really need some live Elton John . . . .
20. John Mellencamp – 59 tracks. One concert and Hits collection. Always good to hear when he pops up.
21. Pink – 58 tracks. I have liked her since the first time I saw a piece of the video, ‘There You Go.’ People may be put off by her changing styles of music with albums but I enjoy it.
22. P.M. Dawn - 57 tracks. Just their four albums. But they have some incredible songs. Better than Prince caliber at times.
23. Alison Moyet – 56 tracks.. She was probably bigger in the U.K. but I thought her solo work was pretty good. And I still like the voice.
24. James Brown – 52 tracks. The 50th Anniversary Collection and a couple of remixes.
25. Joe – 51 tracks. Is there any better background R & B? Everyone’s familiar with it, but no complaints of being played to death. But I think I have enough Joe.
26. Macy Gray – 50 tracks. Definitely a different perspective but deeper a la Tracy Chapman.

Well, I have two lists here; one of which would be considered my favorites list, meaning I have all or nearly all of these artists' albums plus remixes, b-sides and bootlegs, most of which are more than 100 songs each, and those artists who I have multiple albums of or greatest hits which total over 50 songs.

My Favorites List:
Prince - I have all of his albums on my iPod except N.E.W.S. and a couple of his live bootlegs. prince yes wildsign crysball eye music fro guitar
Mariah Carey: - I have all of her albums plus a huge number of remixes and b-sides from Japan and Europe. love heart music cloud9
U2 - I have all of their albums and one EP b-sides release for Target stores only.
Michael Jackson: I have all of his solo albums except for the early 70's stuff plus some Jackson 5/Jacksons tracks.
The Beatles - I have all of their albums plus their Anthology and Live From the BBC sets.
Public Enemy - I was a huge fan of this seminal hip-hop group back in the day.
R. Kelly - This is more by default. I liked various tracks from each of his albums and found myself getting all of them except the last two.
Jay-Z - This is sort of by default, too.

My Multiple Albums/Greatest Hits Collections:
Madonna
Janet Jackson
Rolling Stones
The Commodores/Lionel Richie
Kanye West
Coldplay
Christina Aguilera
The Isley Brothers
Bruce Springsteen
Common
Elton John
Billy Joel
