Dude is a perfect example of what I was talking about on another thread of R&B singers who are marketed like rappers. I remember when Touch Me Tease Me dropped. I went looking for it in this local store near me and couldn't find it. The dude at the counter checked THE RAP SECTION and boom - there it was. I told the guy "he's not a rapper" and the guy just shrugged and walked away. They looked at the cover, saw a black dude in hip-hop clothes and threw him in the rap section. Even though it was a little offensive how nonchalant the employee was about correcting the mistake, I can see how it was made. In the mid 90s there were several R&B artists who had CD covers that looked like rap covers. Now there are quite a few.

Anyway, I'll be checkin' for his new one to hear what it sounds like.

Jodeci comes 2 mind. I got an advance copy of their 1st cd.....and didn't listen 4 months because I thought it was rap.

If you look at the video, if you didn't have the sound on, it would be easy to think dude was a hip-hop artist.
