By the time "Street Player" and "Masterjam" came out, she was pretty much done with the band. She was just fulfilling her contractual obligations. Notice, on both "Street" and "Masterjam", she only sang lead vocals on a about half the tracks? In an interview a few years ago, she said one of the reason why she left the group was she was tired of singing crap songs. And because she had experience much success with "Chaka" and some decent success with "Naughty", she knew she could do it on her own.

I'm sure it was of a money thing than anything. She liked a complete royality instead of sharing.

Yeah Chaka was it with Rufus after 1978. She only returned for brief spins, the last of which was in 1983 with the "Stompin' at the Savoy" album and the "Ain't Nobody" single, which featured only Chaka on vocals and Tony Maiden on guitar and talk box (in fact Tony Maiden was the only member who remained close to Chaka after the breakup of Rufus).

That's correct. In the early 80s,there was so much friction between Chaka and the bandmembers.Chaka was concentrating on her solo career and the Rufus guys were pissed.Ironically, despite all the drama and fighting, the group had one of their biggest hits during this period ("Ain't Nobody").That was their swan song.

Chaka is so funny in this clip lol

Lovely song, but I like Any Love the best followed by Once You Get Started. Rufus was a funky ass band.
