40 Years of The Allman Brothers - (1969-2009)

September will mark 40 years since the release of...

...The Allman Brothers Band (They still perform to this day.)

From the Duane Allman era:

...Whipping Post

...Don't Keep Me Wonderin'

...Dreams

...In Memory of Elizabeth Reed

I have worn the live and studio versions of "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" and "Melissa" out, and I still love those songs.

Duane was a very talented guitarist. I will always love his acoustic version of "Little Martha." Gregg is talented as well.

I can't forget the tune that made me want to hear more ABB in the first place:

Midnight Rider

Have you heard the cover Buddy Miles did of this tune?

Another one from the Duane Allman era...

OMG I love The Allman Brothers Band. Man, the spirit of Raymond Berry Oakley, Dickie Betts, and Duane "Skyman" Allman plays on thru Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, and Oteil Burbrage.

Yes, I have, and I like it a lot. Somebody magically sent it to my inbox when I said I liked this one. wink
