Icon's info was always 3 to 4 months old by the time they printed it, and that was even before the internet

I'm not sure about the remix, I love the punching sounds and the Mortal Kombat samples but the clapping gets annoying a bit...

After all the trouble she went through adopting David,I wonder why she tried to adopt in Malawi again? There are many other poor areas in Africa where she could have adopted without any problems, such as Ethiopia.

I think it's because she feels committed to Malawi because of her charity. I really think she has an attachment to the country and the people and the culture. Everyone says she's so hard hearted. But in this case I think she was following her heart and not logic. Logically, I agree it would have been better and easier for her if she adopted from another African country.

Today Madonna is made fun of by the press because her adoption was denied, and her hardcore fans are bashing her because the 2nd Manchester show & Hamburg dates were canceled without reason. Madonna.com just posted a celebratory press release and conveniently omitted those 2 dates from the revised schedule.

I hope she simply moves on from all this with dignity - rather than going through lots of drawn out appeals and such. She should simply sponsor Mercy from now on.....show people she isnt has cold hearted and selfish as they think she is.

I sort of agree. The only problem is if she gives money, but Mercy still stays in the orphanage, the girl is still being denied a family. If they can work something out where Mercy is adopted by someone else like extended family and Madonna supports them it would be okay. But to leave her in an orphanage even with Madonna's financial support doesn't sit right with me.
I think Madonna does have the right to appeal though. I don't think appealing a decision you feel is unfair is undignified. Just because she was allowed to have David without being a resident and so the decision here seems inconsistent and based on the whim of the judge.
I think the stuff about residency is just an excuse. I think the real reason she was denied is because of her divorce.

Yeah,I know that Malawi is close to her heart. She has donated so much money and time there. Her intentions are honorable, but I wouldn't want her to go through all this drama again. There is too much red tape involved with Malawi adoptions, which is really unfair.

I agree. It shouldn't really matter what country the child is from if it about saving a child from disease and poverty. I think there are other African countries like Ethopia that suffer from the same problems, but have clearer adoption laws.
David is from Malawi, but I don't see why he couldn't accept another child from another country as his sister.
Maybe she feels she will be able to change the laws and thus make it easier for others to adopt from Malawi, but it all seems like too much drama. Sometimes you have to pick your battles.

I think the judges wanted to demonstrate the world that they don't treat vips better than anybody else. They were heavily critized for the David Bamba-adoption affair.

Yes, but is anyone else other than Madonna trying to adopt from Malawi and being denied based on the residency thing? If non-famous people were denied and she got David, there might be a point. But it seems to me no one else is going to there to adopt.

In 2006 there were several interviews with parents that adopted Malawian children.
At the end of the day, all these people must be richer than average. Maybe they think they think adopting is a good deed but it's somehow cynical though.

I think Madonna's girl school is a really good thing!!

Hey folks

don't you think Stuart Price did remix some of Madonna's song perfectly well?

I.e. the Papa Don't Preach RIT version is amazing. This is how it must sound in the late 00s! I love this version better than the original!!

Like A Virgin from the CT is amazing!!! I like the original better though, but the 06 version is sooo cool!

Erotica/You Thrill Me - The best Madonna remix EVER!!!

Best Madonna remix ever?? Has to be the Above & Beyond remix of What If Feels Like For A Girl....I was lucky enough to see Judge Jules at our local club, Ikon, when he dropped it for the first time, around midnight!! I nigh on p*ssed myself with excitement upon hearing it!! biggrin

I think Stuart Price's remixes are hit and miss. Many criticize him for "sucking the life out of classics" and I have to say he did that with the likes of "Papa Don't Preach" or "Holiday". For other songs, he basically didn't do anything notable, "Vogue" RIT is like the TIC version with a worse drum set, same for "Like A Virgin", it's very close to the album version still.

On the other hand, I worship "Music Inferno" and the "Lucky Star" / "Hung Up" mash-up and of course the "Erotica" mix is pretty cool too. And while "Express Yourself" RIT is basically the TIC version with a marching beat, somehow it doesn't sound outdated, like the Shep mix.

I must say Kevin Antunes did a much better job, "Vogue", "Into The Groove" & "Like A Prayer" on Sticky & Sweet pretty much walk over Stuart's reinventions.

Also, many complain that S&ST "Ray Of Light" is the same version, but if you listen carefully, the drums are accentuated, while on the DWT version they are almost nonexistant.
