Who's that Girl, live? No way. Has to be fake...but, then, it IS on Madonna.com...

If she's not going to bother trying to sing the song well, then leave it. That would be terrible to hear her butcher such a dope song, which is really just a rewrite of an even doper song that is already in the set. Judging by her vocals on S&S...here's hoping the WTG rumors are false. Go for something you aint gotta bother singing well, girl! Burning Up...I'm So Stupid...something rock. Honestly, replace your horrible rendition of Borderline, which is a classic that requires a well sung melody...

I kinda hope that she doesn't do another studio album for a LONG TIME (Live Nation deal will have problems, no doubt, as they have NO idea how to distribute and market albums) and that her 52 year old ass is forced to take a brand new show in the road in 2010 to help LN recoup some more of their cash. Retire the tired ass Candy Shop, 4 Minutes, Hung Up, Ray of Light, Music and Isla Bonita for good!

A brand new tour with all completely different songs drawing from her whole catalogue would be great, and I WANT TO HEAR:

Everybody
Physical Attraction
Angel
Dress You Up
Stay
Gambler
Crazy For You
Look of Love
Causing A Commotion
Keep it Together
Promise to Try
Til Death Do us Part
Hanky Panky
Sooner or Later
Rescue Me
Erotica
Fever
Deeper and Deeper
Rain
Secret Garden
Survival
Secret
Rather Be Your Lover
Inside of Me
Forbidden Love
Love Tried to Welcome Me
I Want You
You'll See
Sky Fits Heaven
Power of Goodbye
Swim
Impressive Instant
Dont Tell Me (Letterman Version)
Hollywood
Love Profusion
Jump
Get Together
Sorry
Let it Will Be
Voices
Heartbeat
Incredible

i'm glad i was at Coachella and got to see her do Everybody.

Madonna is a business woman, she's gonna do what she did the last 4 tours: Half of the songs will be from the current album.

If you like the album, that's fine, if you don't like it, it's bad.

I would not want her to not do another studio album and just tour doing her older stuff. To me that would be the end of her as a contemporary artist. For me, HC was not her best album, but I think she is still capable of doing great new songs.
I don't see the point of touring and doing a bunch of older obscure songs. That would be no more appealing to casual fans and likely to sell out large venues than her new songs. I hope she keeps the pattern of touring to support a new album with a few oldies but goodies thrown in.

I ner coul follow that logic. So what, Playground was on STR, but Music was on Music and also on GHV2, which was only released one year after the Music album.

Fact is: GHV2 is a crap greatest hits album for Madonna because she intensively left out #1. And not all who have STR have GHV2 and otherwhise.

There's a difference between studio albums and compilation albums. Studio albums are for the hard core fans, while compilations are aimed at more casual fans. They want you to buy both STR and GHV2. Why would you do that if GHV2 is just a repeat of a lot of stuff on STR, so that makes perfect sense to me.
[Edited 4/18/09 12:11pm]

okay, you've got a point, you gotta divide studio and complation albums,

But let's be honest: In 2001 STR was dead, and GHV2 was the current product to promote.

And why would fans NOT buy the album with the ballads and the other 90s hits, but an album with only half of her hits?

I find it strange Warner, Madonna etc cared what fans allready have and what not.

Anyway, GHV2 would have been better with ALL the hits

Still so torn about Hard Candy by the way.

"Candy Shop," while fun, and has FANTASTIC production by Pharrell - is a decent B side at best.

"4 Minutes" has Justin Timberlake. Nuff Said.

"Miles Away" is very overrated and simple in my opinion. I DO like it - but it just feels like an inferior rewrite of so many other great sad Madonna ballads.

"Dance Tonight" has great potential, but then, Justin is on it, the whole fake flirtation between them ("I'm so into youuuuu") is dumb and unbelievable btwn a 27 year old guy and a 49 year old woman. And there's no bridge...it feels half assed.

"Devil Wouldn't Recognize You" is SO dumb. I don't know why it's so loved by Madonna and her fans on this board. In fact, she has the WORST taste in her OWN music - I read an interview that said her fave songs were Candy Shop and this one. It's the 4th version of Cry Me A River with a stupid, predictable melody and really affected pronunciation and lame lyrics ("you're pushing me/right down to the floor" --- really???)

Then again - "Give it 2 Me" is an instant CLASSIC; "Heartbeat" is the best song on the record, and one of her best in years; "She's Not Me" is campy trash that is just so bad it's good, and loveable, also a favorite in years; "Incredible" is just that; "Voices" is KILLER; "Spanish Lesson" has the illest hip hop beat I've heard on a pop album in years. And then, "Beat Goes On," the slow grower, has aged in the past year SO WELL - LOVES IT! The vibe is like "Holiday" 2008. I can see those 2 songs going great together on a future tour.

So...I feel half of it is pure trash and the other half is exceptional. So weird. Haven't felt that way about a Madonna album since...the last two tracks on "True Blue."

I adore Miles Away, Voices and Devil. Spanish Lesson has to be the worst thing she's ever done. Candy Shop, 4 Minutes and Give it to Me are decent and I sometimes listen to them. The rest of the album I could care less about and hardly ever listen to now. I don't get the fuss about The Beat Goes On. I don't like it all. I guess it is sort of like Holiday, but I hate that song. I know it's heresy for a Madonna fan to say so, but I hope she never performs that one again!

Oh? And the casual fans all do have STR and GHV2? Between 1998 and 2001 Madonna made new fans and I'm sure they would have liked to have a decnt GHV2 with ALL the hits.

let's say your a 20 yo who remembers certain songs like say Music, Deeper and Deeper, Frozen and take a bow. you aren't certain you'll like all of her stuff but think you like her hits. that will force you to buy two cds to get those songs instead of one. it makes more business sense or it did before the internets.

riiiiight....

if you look at all her compilations with warner, they all serve their purpose. There's the 80s (TIC) - which also left off a TON of BIG hits - the 90s (GHV2), ballads (STR), an all non-stop dance party (YCD) and a re-packaged EP of her biggest FLOP (R&R). They only do compilations with her when they NEED to; this decade is almost over, her contract is up, so this new one's on the way. It all makes sense.

I personally think putting out MULTIPLE versions of compilation greatest hits with the SAME songs over and over is CHEESY and lame. Tina, Michael, Toni, etc...too many dumb best ofs.

I'm saying that overall her compilations have been done RIGHT from a business pt of view. Although, GHV2 was pretty lame with NOTHING new.

I think you want your fave artist to have the PERFECT tracklisting with the right edits, songs, etc. cuz you know that's how most people will hear them - and it's exciting. When they do Badu, they better not fuck it up!

"Voices" and "Spanish Lesson" are the only two songs that I don't like. She should have replaced these two lame tracks with two kickass uptempo Timbaland/Danja jams to close out the album.Even the B-side "Ring My Bell" is better than those songs.

"Miles Away","Heartbeat","Dance 2Night" and "Beat Goes On" are new Madonna classics, imo.I rank these songs up there with her best 80s singles.

"Give It 2 Me","Incredible" and "She's Not Me" are almost as good. The second half of "Incredible" (from the bridge to the ending) is especially satisfying.

For the longest time,I couldn't figure out what is so special about "Devil Wouldn't Recognize You".The fans absolutely adore this song.At first I thought it was okay, but now I have a whole new appreciation for it.I'm still not sure if it really fits on this album (surrounded by uptempo dance tunes) but it really is a good song.Maybe she should have saved it for the greatest hits set? It could have been one of the three new tracks.

It's been over a year since 'Hard Candy' was released and I'm still listening to it all the time.I think I've listened to "Miles Away" about a million times, lol.

Madonna suffered "minor injuries and bruises" Saturday while horseback riding in New York's Hamptons, her publicist has announced.

On Saturday evening, Liz Rosenberg said that the entertainer, 50, had already been released from Southampton Hospital after she had been thrown off a horse that had been startled paparazzi.

Rosenberg said the photographers had jumped out of the bushes to snap Madonna, who was visiting friends on Eastern Long Island for the weekend. Further medical tests are to be conducted, and doctors will continue to observe Madonna, the rep added.

In 2005, Madonna broke several bones in a horse-riding accident – cracking three ribs and breaking her collarbone and her hand while at Ashcombe, her country estate outside London. The following year, she suffered a hernia and quickly recovered

I prefer Voices over Devil. I think Voices is cool and stylish.

Candy Shop is trash, Spanish Lesson just crap. She SHOULD have put Ring My Bell on it.

I don't. It has a minimalistic style, but who says the GH is gonna be called GHV3?

The first one wasn't called so too!

Also it's not really Madonna on that pic and I wanna have a fulll body pic of Madonna.

On ICON, Guy Oseary confirmed Madonna is recording 2 new songs with Paul Oakenfold, a 3rd song would be recorded next week with another producer, but only 2 songs from the sessions would be for the GH.

It's rumored that the third song will be on a movie soundtrack ('Twilight' sequel).

It's a bit weird that they officially announce 3 tracks but they say only 2 will be on GH...

The Twilight rumour has been going strong, but maybe the 3rd track is for a limited edition of iTunes exclusive of the GH? Or she just wants to pick 2 out of 3 and the 3rd will be left on the cutting floor?
