maybe the musicianship? the production quality?

there's nothing wrong with goofy lyrics if it's going along with a great piece of music. likewise, it's forgivable to have less-than-amazing music if the lyrics are incredible. but if you're 0 for 2, then i'd say you have problems. lol

Wow, I actually agree with you. I thought you were a snob. Theres also nothing wrong with lyrics that make little to no sense or are to put it more intelligently, ambiguous. Theres room for Costello, but ditto for "shaddup your face". British music in general is more akin to this. Look at Bowie, T rex, Def Leppard, Oasis etc.....its escapism.

I sorta agree with what you said comparing the song to "housequake". Sure the musicianship could be concieved as alot worse, but at the end of the day, its a song to dance and have fun to. Nothing deep.

lol true. the lyrics to that song read like a sonnet in comparison:

Move a groove, nice and easy
Feels so good
They're in my bones

Dance, dance, dance to the music
Get down, get down and sing along

[CHORUS]
Cause it ain't gonna hurt
Nobody to get on down
It ain't gonna hurt nobody
To get on down
It in't gonna hurt nobody
To get on down

Don't stop me
And I won't stop you

Someone said that it was ten to four
It's not too late to throw some more
Time keeps ticking away
Come on and let's get down today
Top40db: The most accurate lyrics site on the net.

[repeat CHORUS]

Don't stop me

[repeat CHORUS]

Don't stop me
And I won't stop you

The issue I have is, you'd assume that Brick's members could speak in complete sentences offstage. You can't assume that with these kids. Which is a sad commentary.

While i agree that this song didn't have the most appropriate grammar, this
song was intended to get you on the dance floor and this song displays it
musical chops. For every dance floor song that brick had like push, push
they wrote good songs like happy, livin from the mind, good morning sunshine,
and all the way. We'll see if the GS boyz or whatever they call themselves
can build a resume outside of this song. lol

I LOVE THIS SONG EVEN THO I THINK ITS STUPID!!!!

I'm all dressed up with nowhere to go
Walkin' with a dead man over my shoulder

Waiting for an invitation to arrive
Goin' to a party where no one's still alive

CHORUS
I was struck by lighting
Walkin' down the street
I was hit by something last night in my sleep
It's a dead man's party
Who could ask for more
Everybody's comin', leave your body at the door
Leave your body and soul at the door . . .
(Don't run away it's only me)

All dressed up with nowhere to go
Walkin' with a dead man
Waitin' for an invitation to arrive
With a dead man . . . Dead Man . . .

Got my best suit and my tie
Shiny silver dollar on either eye
I hear the chauffeur comin' to the door
Says there's room for maybe just one more . . .

CHORUS

Don't run away it's only me
Don't be afraid of what you can't see
Don't run away it's only me . .

OINGO BOING BABY YEAH!!!

Do The Stanky Leg or Housequake? Do The Stanky Leg or Housequake?

hmmm

This is the question we REALLY have no answer to. Me, oh my! Life bears another brain-wrack. doh! I guess they're equal. When it gets down to it, I guess you can say it's personal preference. LAWD! I guess I'd just have to prefer Housequake just because I think it gets the job done better for the purpose of what the track is supposed to serve: Dance yo' azz off to it! I can't be considered a music snob JUST BECAUSE! AH! I just....I don't know. Some things are just too DISCERNIBLE to bother explaining just why one is preferable over the other one.

It's the instrumentation. Only thing with the other one is that tired, slow-ass beat, they need to stop raping the 808s, lol.

I mean, in my opinion, that sound is REALLY tired. But I guess sassybritches is in love with it. Me personally, I'd LIKE something a little fresh and new. You know. Something that grabs a bull by the horns and controls the erratic navigation of it's wild, crazy, and frenetic mad dash towards the matador that is the figurative "LISTENER" in this analogically schematic infusion of sound. BLAH! I just hit a dead end, there. I hope I hit the mark and got the gist down, well enough. Anyway, all's I'm saying is; can we have a little variety in the music industry? Can it be foreseeable in the near future, because these so-called "PROSPECTS" aren't really looking like anything other than ominous portents for what's to come?! I know there's going to be some sound that is particularly pinpointed and popular depending on contemporary fad, but this has really run its course. It's time for something new, already.

I consider myself open to hip-hop but that song is atrocious. As an exponent the Cabbage Patch, I'm just appalled at what passes for dance crazes these days. What kind of dirtbag name is 'The Stanky Leg'? At least the Twist, the Swim, the Macarena and the Funky Chicken evoke visual aspects, but Stanky Leg makes me think of a hooker with leprosy.

Plus I have a really hard time following those instructions. How do I sauce my ring? Where are my micros? What the hell is the 'ace cboon coon chick'? I tried to git it, git it, git it, git it, git it, until I realized I didn't know what I should be gitting. Maybe I should try cash in and invent "The Itchy Pants Dance" or the "Men-Oh!-Pause".
