Without having read through all 5 pages...
I agree with the point that an incredible singer is no less an artist than an incredible instrument player. Not all singers write their own stuff or play their own music. Billie, Ella and Aretha never get shit for it. They're considered masters, quite rightly. Now is someone like Stevie or Prince, who can sing as well as write and play, MORE of an artist than Ella Fitzgerald? That's hard to say. In my humble o... there's dudes can play every instrument, write their own stuff and sing it that are SHIT ASS WORTHLESS compared to a really, really good singer. Ah, it's art, not sports, I don't see any reason we need to rank them in order of importance. | |
