I love the intro and that last drum break before the outro...Tears For Fears is another one of those bands that gets written off as "80's relics", but Roland and Curtis could really play...is this your all time favorite? mine has gotta be "Shout" or "Advice For The Young At Heart"

Love it (but y'all knew that). It's my favorite TFF song after "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" and "Sowing the Seeds of Love."

I really like the literal video version:

DJ Eli Escobar from NY did a cool party beat with this song called "Heavenly Break" with the opening Tears For Fears riff, Ike and Tina drum break layered underneath, and the singing from "Heaven And Hell Is On Earth" by 20th Century Band over top.

This might be in my all time fave Tears top 5 songs. I love the whole "Big Chair" album, but I have yet to hear their 1st cd.

This is my favorite by them too. It is a great song and who wouldn't
want to sing this to their lady. Video is classic too. This is one
of those classics you never tire of.

A great song with a timeless feel to it

Puff Daddy samples the intro during his whole song "Testimonial"

One more reason for me to hate him.

Note: It is replayed, and "Testimonial" is an intro.

Instant classic... along with "Everyone Wants To Rule The World"! I'm glad those two lads were able to patch up their differences and get back to making music.

Songs like this really make you wonder what the hell happened to music.

Normally I don't ride that train of thought but this song made me think of that exactly.

I wanted to be with you alone
and talk about the weather
But traditions I can trace
against the child in your face
Won't escape my attention
You keep your distance
with a system of touch
And gentle persuasion
Im lost in admiration
could I need you this much
Oh, you're wasting my time
You're just wasting time

That's a love song right there.

Hell, that first verse is a helluva poem.

It's OK but I never cared too much for that one. I prefer "Everybody Wants To Rule The World".

clapping CLASSIC! Easily my favorite Tears for Fears track -- and, yeah, those lyrics are a beast!

Also... I just realized a few months ago that the video was shot at my seminary! woot! Our library looks generally the same nearly 25 years later, except there are now internet terminals where the card catalog was. It's hard not to walk up in there now without humming the song's intro.
